I'm glad to see members, sponsors, and platform contributors can have open, honest, and generally respectful conversations, something sorely missing in so much of today's broader discourse. These are challenging times, so let's make an extra effort to allow for differing opinions and all views to be heard.

WBF is a special place that we all enjoy and benefit from. Making it happen takes large swaths of time and effort to keep it humming. This is not a new sentiment from me, so at the risk of repeating myself, thank you, Steve, Ron, and Julian, for what you do daily to make that happen!

Onward to Axpona (this year's show will be amazing!), then Munich, and finally, The Home Entertainment Show in Irvine, June 7-9th.

weird if you want to audition speaker A, B, and C with same associated components. Different types of speakers sing with different components. Same for carts, arms, etc you need a variety of components at your disposal to see which combo fits right.

I had listened to M9 in Korea last Novermber.

The only missing part is I should have played some vinyl.

Ch Dac sounds slightly dry but not too bad.

But I enjoyed the sound for 1 and half hours going through the songs that I am familiar.

The video will not duplicate the real sound but could give rough idea.

Audio is subjective hobby.

There is no best sound.

It depend on personal taste and musical selection.

Too much talks here and no essence out of it.

Talks .... i thought the main objective these days for a stereo system is to post about it on a forum / social media .

Sorry, those videos, while sounding better than Ron's, still sound unattractive, slightly tipped up and with questionable tonal density. They also have the bathroom-y reverb typical of most system videos.

Hi Carlos, now I am getting serious

I now understand why Alon does not approve of M9 videos posted on the net.

I won't be posting any more videos of the M7s. The reason being is that I switched over to the Pilium on the M7s today. I couldn't stand the anticipation and with 75 hours now on the M7s I inserted the Extreme, Pilium/Olymus/Zeus.

I was throttled with the difference over the Devialet 440, as I expected that I would be.

I then recorded two videos and posted them on YT. The difference between the videos and what the in-room experience, FOR ME, is so contrasting that it is doing an injustice to viewers and to the equipment at hand to publish these videos.

The main issue is the lack of bass on the videos. The bass is the foundation of the music. The Pilium/M7 bass is something that I have not experienced before. Below the floor, vibrating (just the right amount) the listening seat, when the recording delivers low bass. The speed and the articulation of the bass, with several simultaneous bass lines playing is mesmerizing.

The entire room is encapsulated with sound and harmonics of multiple individual guitars or instruments playing but the coherence of the overall sound is off the charts.

The dimensionality and the layering and the deep soundstage way beyond the back wall is present in room, but does not come across on the videos.

None of this comes across in the videos vs the in-room experience and more so with this latest M7/Pilium set up imho.

So I will give up providing videos for those superlative listeners that can tell everything that is going on from the videos and defer to my chosen path, which is the M7s are now ready for demonstration. Anyone that is interested in hearing the M7s is invited to visit.

I have not tried the Kondo Kaguras yet on the M7s but will do so in the next few days. The M7s still need hours on them, but they are worthy of demonstrations now.

I had nothing to do with Ron's visit to Chris in Dallas, so this is second hand, but I do not believe that Chris knew that Ron would be posting the M9s video. Pics were totally fine. I also believe, from talking with Chris after the video had been posted, that he asked Ron to remove the video.

I have heard the M9 system in Dallas several times and think posting this video did a disservice to the M9s. Just mho.

Bob, it is a known fact that most phone and camera microphones drop off in frequency response below 50Hz. Studio microphones can capture sound lower than this obviously. What system videos aim to capture is the general sound of the system and while they will not capture the lowest notes they get the rest and that’s enough to give most of us a taste of the sound in the room. If your customers are into Hip-Hop as you have alluded to in the past then I agree that the sound over videos will probably will not do the speakers justice but most of us are not listening to beat-boxes at home. Post your videos and let us decide what we think. After all, only an idiot would buy or not buy a speaker based on the sound on videos according to most here.

This is exactly what people tell me when I record a video,
my experience with PILIUM (one level below Extreme) with speakers that are relatively not easy to drive,
the differences between the recordings that I choose not to do anymore and the REALITY,
is so different, people at my place drop their jaws to the floor.
Speaking of the bass experience, and this is one of the great advantages of PILIUM is the depth, quietness and clear control in the lower range,

MAGICO obviously knew who to pair their speakers with,

In my opinion, those with MAGICO speakers and with similar electronics and not PILIUM unfortunately haven't discovered their speakers yet.

I was just listening this morning, before going to work, full blast to a few movements of the Turangalila symphony by Messiaen, which I will see live at the Boston Symphony in 10 days. To even think that a video can do justice to the power of the orchestra, the dynamics, the hall ambience and the stage depth, as well as the separation of instruments and simultaneous music strands that I hear from my system is preposterous.
