Ron, there’s a maturity problem with a number of participants in this thread, and frankly across multiple threads. I’ll continue to search for needed info and input when i need it, as there are quite a few folk here that i have great respect for, but i’m embarrassed for even more posters who appear not to have graduated from the elementary school payground.

I’m not picking fights with anybody. Mike said that he wanted a piece of OCD Mikey and challenged him to a duel of their digital playback dac. PeterA and others thought that OCD Mikey would record it for his YouTube channel, which would allow the rest of us not present to enjoy and judge the competition remotely for ourselves. Mike said that he would not allow it to be video and I simply questioned what is there to be afraid of? I even went further and suggested to Mike that by posting videos there would be an opportunity for him to learn from others. I have had to inform Jay from Jay Audio Lab and now Mike that the mastering on vinyl LPs and on magnetic tape is NOT the same as the mastering on the digital release of the same recording. I guess that you don’t see it, but I’m being helpful here by educating and telling Mike not to scared and insecured with videos of his system.

Why would you EQ a digital file with the required RIAA equalization for vinyl? I’m curious to read your response.
Every LP is equalized to meet the cutting heads excursions, and by default are mastered to meet those requirements. Then there are the frequency response and dynamic range limitations with the analog and digital media.
Go to Sterling Sound Studio and you will find that recordings are Mastered separately for vinyl stamping and for digital distribution.
