QSA LANEDRI Series

Thanks for clarifying. I realize now the confusion was on my side — my JS-2 power supply has (two) female DC outputs, so when I use male-to-male DC cables it’s actually possible for me to orient them in both directions. That’s why I was wondering whether orientation would make a difference in this case. It does, pigtail plugged into the destination component is the way to go.

What I also meant to ask is about the cable that connects to the Discovery DC pigtail. Although it seems no cable is best, in your experience, is it best to keep this run as short as possible with strong shielding, and would a heavy-gauge DC cable be more beneficial? Is there an “optimal combo” cable type you recommend pairing with the pigtail?
I recommend using a male-to-male DC adaptor (without a cable) from your JS-2 power supply to connect directly to the Discovery Veridion DC power extension.

By the way, we’re also working on introducing the Discovery Veridion power supply.

While I've been reading this thread about clock cables that are terminated with 50Ω BNC connectors on both ends, LMR-400 turned out to be compatible with RP-SMA connectors as well:

https://www.head-fi.org/goto/post?id=18282529
That could be worth trying if shutting down Wi-Fi during listening isn’t an option. But it doesn’t replace keeping DC runs as short as possible — there’s plenty of other RFI/EMI in play beyond Wi-Fi alone.

What we’ve found to make a big difference on all our cables, especially under the power strip, is using proper footers. The background gets much darker, and the overall presentation takes a big step forward.

We’ve got plans to add Veridion-treated footers to the Discovery series. We’re happy with the impact they’ve made.

When are you going to offer Veridion treatment for humans?o_O
When the R&D budget allows  until then there are still plenty of components in the audio/video chain to focus on.

We started this brand a few years ago through experiments with cables together with fellow audiophiles. The Discovery series is our way of opening up R&D to the community—prioritizing budget-friendly gear, compact designs, and components that can deliver the strongest impact on music and cinematic experiences.

Some excellent ideas already shared by users that made it onto the pipeline include: Audio-Technica phono cartridge, FiiO JadeAudio KA1 for smartphones, and Apple TV 4K.

Keep the suggestions coming—we’re always open to new ideas!

Just to clear things up about burn-in, since a lot of people have been asking: the Discovery Veridion cables need around 70 hours of continuous use before they really settle in. You’ll hear and see improvements right away after plugging them in, but the cables usually start showing their full character after about 3–5 days of burn-in.

You don’t need anything fancy to do this — just let them run in your home setup or computer system and they’ll break in naturally. For power cables, you can chain multiple Discovery Veridion cables using an IEC320 C14 Male to NEMA 5-15R adapter.

One note: we don’t recommend using dedicated burn-in devices. In our experience, they tend to add coloration rather than letting the cables open up on their own.

As part of our R&D, we’ve compared the Discovery Version cables against a range of high-end models. In the spirit of learning and sharing knowledge, we’d like to invite everyone to share his own experience: how do the Discovery Veridion cables compare with your high-end or reference cables?

It would be great to hear:

  • Your system setup
  • The music you used for evaluation
  • Where Discovery Veridion cable surprised you or stood out
  • Where your high-end reference cable(s) still had strengths

Looking forward to your impressions and insights!

Thanks for all the helpful info so far! I’m curious, have you noticed whether the Veridion effect diminishes over time with normal use, unplugging, or handling? I realize it’s a newer treatment, but any observations so far would be interesting.

The burn-in has an exponential impact on performance during the first few days, with some ups and downs in this initial period. After about 70 hours, performance stabilizes, and from that point onward the impact continues to increase at a slower rate over time.

The effect of Veridion is permanent, and we encourage everyone to share their experiences with the burn-in process.

I’m probably forgetting someone, but I can recall only one developer over the years who’s said their product needed more than 50-150 hours to settle. That’s Morrow, who details what changes to expect with their cables every 50-75 hours or so up to 400. In my experience, I've encountered only one product that’s needed less than about 300 hours, and that wasn’t a QSA-Lanedri but an Authentic Audio Image USB cable which sounded pretty much the same from hour 1 to 300.

Regardless of the exact hours, I’m more curious about the cumulative effect — AC + DC + Ethernet + couplers — and how it unfolds over the first few days. That’s where the fun begins!
QSA mentions the impact continues at a slower rate after initial burn-in; in my experience, I haven’t seen others make that claim?

The Infinity Line required approximately 300 hours of burn-in, with fluctuations during the first 200 hours. With the Veridion, we have reduced this to around 70–100 hours. However, the refinement continues gradually, with subtle improvements still unfolding even after hundred hours.

I'm finding footers make a really nice sonic improvement to the Discovery power strip. If you just put the strip on the floor, or shelf, with no after market footers, you are leaving some untapped potential, at least that's my experience, in two different audio systems.

Also, try removing any power conditioners, or power distributors, no matter how beneficial or how high quality. Try plugging your Discovery strip from the wall outlet directly to your gear using all Discovery power cords. I really recommend the power strip as it enhances the Veridion impact, compared to just using the Discovery power cords alone.

I'm thinking about "daisy chaining" 2 discovery power strips.

If I were to daisy chain 2 veridion powerstrips, I think I will do it internal, with some of the 12awg wire and use the rest of the one 15 foot ac cable somewhere else.
That way I can use all 2x6 outlets.
Also, it is very easy to bypass the illuminated on/off switch/overload protection.

Most power conditioners/distributors try to reduce noise floor, but the trade-off is usually a loss in frequency spectrum. The Discovery Veridion power strip makes the background darker, while fully preserving the frequency spectrum. You suddenly realize how much information gets lost with other conditioners/distributors once you hear it.

We’ve compared the Discovery Veridion to conditioners and distributors up to $30k, and every time the Veridion revealed just how much more natural and dynamic the music could be. The difference is striking, the music feels way more alive, we find it to be a day-and-night change.

I'm thinking about "daisy chaining" 2 discovery power strips.

We experimented with daisy-chaining the Discovery Veridion power strips, and the effect actually gets stronger with each unit added to the chain. The amount of metal involved is what’s causing the increased impact.

We’d advise against disassembling the Discovery Veridion power strip or cutting the cables as it will degrade its impact.

@Anas,

Noticed that the coax cable is a F connector, is this only optimiaed for video.

Is the a bnc offering anytime planned or do we use an F to bnc adaptor for use for audio as s/pdif and clocking purposes? Or it has not been develop for audio at this stage and need more R&D for proving the effectiveness for those purposes?

The RG11 coax cable we’re offering is fitted with F-type connectors, mainly geared toward ISP, CATV, and other RF setups.

The BNC version is in the works and should be available soon.
