Yes...ha ha - realised who was who, re composer/band leader - no I meant your audio system - which of your audio systems was that? - looks abit like an Accu Receiver and some Devore's or a Proac floorstander of some sort. TT?

No idea... anyway - loved the look of it.

I see you have a CS600, which is one of my fav's esp with KT120's which I ran with mine when I had one (twice), or 6N3C. Nuisance about the KT's - you had to leave the lid off. Kinda put a dampener of it.

You have excellent taste ;)
LOL, sorry about that. I mis-understood.
The system in the pic:

Fisher 500B (receiver)
Devore Gibbon Eights (speakers)
Technics SP10-MK2 (turntable)
The turntable is sitting in a hand-built plinth I built myself, made of Baltic Birch ply sheets and American Redwood veneer.
Thomas Shick 12" (tonearm)
Denon DL103R PRO (cartridge)

Thank you. :)

Gosh - how wonderful. We don't have Devore here in Australia - or at least not that I have seen - nor the Fisher brand.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks Rando - great link. Listened to it this morning.

Yup on the mend - its abit two steps forward one step back stuff. Last time I let a surgeon near me.

Been off audio forums (well - this is the only one I was on) since last I posted here - I checked back in yesterday for a browse about....reminded me why I quit being an audiophile.

Fortunately this thread remains a haven of civility and interest.

I'll be reading this thread with interest for a while. Always nice to get recommendations and jogs of the memory.

Be well mate.
Nice to have you back and get well soon

Thanks Christoph. I feel abit of a fraud being here - haven't got any audiophile gear at all these days - but listen to music alot, so can share in that.

I'll pop up from time to time and we can compare notes on some recordings.

Today.

My Goodness - this thread has died a death ... pity not to see the regulars not posting here.

Well, I guess folks move on.

Beautiful Sunday AM music
LOVE the gear. That is the receiver I grew up with in my home until I left for college. Brings back such wonderful memories. Gorgeous case work.
Thank you, sir.
Glad my post put a smile on your face.

Good evening, or morning gentleman,

Of late I have been listening to BBC Sounds "Through the night" a 6 hour collage of wonderment.

The one i have been listening to today:

with a little fast forwarding according to taste,

I commend BBC Radio 3 to all classical lovers

I'll add that you soon forget 320kbs AAC-LC in favour of the recordings and performances. Truly - and you will all laugh - a glass of brandy, cognac, port or whatever your tipple is, winter, a fire, the wind outside, and this is all you need for a happy evening.

Estonian Festival Orchestra, Paavo Jarvi - Estonian Premieres

I find the album cover artwork particularly evocative. And the music itself stands up to the challenge.

Minu arvates on albumi kaanekujundus eriti meeldejääv. Ja muusika ise peab väljakutse vastu.
