How do you know when you are done?

I have put 3 on ignore on WBF .
So much repeated nonsense in the posts , that i simply couldnt handle it anymore and i had to reach for the emergency solution.

I have no one on ignore. It's all just too entertaining.

Actually I think not. Peter may ask challenging questions but he is always polite -- even to snarks and ankle-biters. He makes positive contributions to the forum in many areas.

Kedar is an agitator and I'm fine with that because he is an intelligent agitator -- we need intelligent agitation. He likewise makes valuable contributions to the forum.
IA?

I know Ron started that with me because I was calling out his intellectual dishonesty in various places, and he could no longer respond to it properly without getting agitated. His so called “I am a pro debater “ stance was no longer working as that needs content to back up claims

You have to ignore first, though, otherwise you lose if the other guy ignores you first.

Maybe but maybe not. If you are ignored first the 'other guy' does not see what you post -- at least in theory, he may look anyway. Presumably either way he does not respond to you, so effectively you have ignored him without ignoring him which may be more satisfying. ;).

I could have easily ignored Ron and micro first but need to read their posts as intellectual honesty police are required to control the hyperbole police

I respect both Peter and ked. I have no issues with them. I was only trying to be funny.
Maybe we need to start a 30 page thread on the definition of Agitator.

You know you are done when you ignore Whatbestforum, or any audio forum for that matter, and no longer seek information on equipment, setup etc.

I don’t think he sees mine either based on my observation that he does not seem to want to answer any of the questions I ask him.
Ditto, i have stopped commenting on his posts, waste of time.!

"Prevention of crime is not what policemen are best at. They would need to have one constable for every citizen and go everywhere with him. But fortunately for the human race, most of us have our own little policeman, up here".

As noted on post #15 on the first page of this thread.

our crime protection.
Are you saying the courts here are corrupt?

Wasn't Romy the Cat the past master of shifting identities so that he could transcend the thicket of banning and ignoring, but still lurk and sharpshoot?

Where there's a will, there's a way. Romy couldn't change his essential style enough to remain camouflaged.

um, what? @bonzo75 was, I assume, partly joking that he is a member of the honesty (thought?) police.

Wiseacring, I quoted Hercule Poirot, a fictional character remarking about the conscience of people as necessary to law and order. His comment was not about law courts, politics, etc. And I wasn't making a comment about Belgian detectives or their fictional thoughts.

OK. Gosh, I was about to quote the great Mirza Ghalib whose poetry I read in the original Urdu. Won't do that now.

Oh well, I thought for sure you would have got the reference that Poirot had often been criticized for his egotistical and overly inflated views of himself. As in “exaggerating his brilliance”.

It was a joke!
