What are you doing today that is Hi-Fi related?

I’m new here, so I’m reading threads trying to figure out who offers very beneficial advice to others. There are many extremely knowledgeable people here!

Grateful, you have to take what everyone says with a grain of salt, you still need to try things out for yourself. Just because someone like something or it works for them, does not mean you will like it or it will work for you.

I m working the morning shift at waffle house , afternoons at Wendys to finish of at Applebees in the evenings to be able to pay for my next amplifier( incl powercord )
Some have to do this to just pay their rent.

Grateful, I love your avatar. Do you know who the artist is?

Thank you, very much!

The artist was a great friend of mine who was a great artist but an even better human being! Ed Mell lived in Scottsdale and created the huge sculpture (Jack Knife) in old town Scottsdale (the center of the art district).

Our mutual friend (Nils Lofgren) used a rather similar Mell for the cover of his most recent album. Nils owns that Mell.

Nils Löfgren is, in my mind the best living guitarist in the world. I have a few of his albums and I would have known about Mountains if I wasn’t in a life changing move, location wise. In regards to the artist, is Ed Mell still with us?

No, the world was ripped off! Ed passed last February (2024) from his second round of cancer. It happened very quickly and I’m still very depressed!

Here’s a pic of Ed and another guitarist with one of the three Jack Knife paintings. At the time, Billy told Ed it was going to be his next LP cover. I doubt that happens now.

I spent some time listening to a few records and then decided to realign and adjust my Koetsu Black for s**** and giggles. It was pretty spot-on before but I wanted to see if I could squeak out just a little more performance. Only listened to a couple of cuts after the realignment. So far so good no monumental changes but I didn't expect there to be. I'll give it a deeper listen tomorrow.

Huge bummer, my brother also passed from cancer in February of ‘24. He played bass for U2 tribute band 2U. I guess we’ll never see the cure from this country!

I just replaced the Vera-Fi Super Sluggo with a Brass Sluggo. Hopefully this cures a sibilance problem I was having...........
