Sounds nice. I think I heard the Ocellias with 211 tubes.
So far I’ve never heard a 211 amp at home though they are very much on my radar and I have enjoyed the ones I’ve heard at shows etc. I’d love to hear some with my Ocellias, sadly a 211 amp with minimal compromises is quite an expensive undertaking! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to try some here soon.

Two years ago I had considered attending this Guangzhou audio show to listen to Line Magnetic speakers.

Those speakers are on sale for 2 days with discount of 5%. ;)

8bb62305-8062-4203-aec7-5a327ba5518e.png

Frequency range : 23Hz à 20KHz

Input sensitivity: 105dB

Load impedance for HP to connect: 8?

Screw terminals compatible with banana plugs

Treble driver: LM302

Bass driver: BA-18

Woofer diameter: 46 cm

3-way passive filter: TA-7376

Compression chamber: LM555W Alnico

Horn: 22A

I almost pulled the trigger for this one without audition two years ago.
At that time total cost to me including shipping and tax was 16k$, but now the cost is 19k$ even with 5% discount.

But now I get the feeling that I may be happy with the above one if I got one.

After I get Altec A7, it is meaningless to get the above one.

sensitivity and strong pull.

Reality sense and scene sense is excellent, and the sound quality of all audio parts also good.

LM-7396 barrier plate audio system can make you listen complete sound of WE Company.

Parameters

High frequency: Duplication of 597

Medium frequency: 22A horn speaker + duplication of 555 or 555x2

If it really does fully 'replicate' the WE sound then it could be a bargain of sorts :)

I generally use an SJS Arcadia PSE 2A3 amp but am borrowing a similar PSE 300b amp at the moment. Although I prefer my amp, probably due to it now being only 2 stages rather than the original 3 and using higher spec components, I do like the extra power of the 300b amp. I therefore need to decide whether to get mine altered (I hesitate to say upgraded) or buy this one and have it upgraded. I will then need to decide on which 300b’s to use. This one uses Electro Harmonix but as I am used to the NOS RCA 2A3’s in my amp I will probably go for either Takatsuki or the new WE reissues.

Thanks David, I had a quick look at the SJS Arcadia amps… lovely stuff. Their build looks great. The SE 300B looks very interesting also.

THe LM3 with teh 22A replica sounds very good. I have heard it twice now (once at a show and once at a dealer) and while not tonally that neutral it is very engaging and dynamic.

It would have been nice to have a chance to listen to it.

Just one question.

Do you believe in 105 db/w efficiency with LM3 speakers from your listeinging experience?

@Solypsa

yes all three run fullrange, I'm not a great believer in filtering as is usually messes up phase linearity or impule or both...

Got it! I too am drawn to this approach- am always curious about real world examples.

( penalty of filters vs penalty of various physical layout potential detriments... )

I started the experiments off with two on each channel in an infinite baffle, that was good...this setup is just great

Yes even when quite loud the power needles on the LM219ia barely flickered...quite effortless.

If it can be driven by 300b SET, I may go for it after my Silbatone 300b SET get repaired Feb next year.

So far I got the impression that 300b SET may not have enough power to play Altec A7 (97db/w) loud in my high ceiling listening room.

if you want to build an OpenBaffle speaker, you should check out his video series. explains how the correct speakers, xover points ... etc are made. really good
Now..forward with vintage...sorry

those for me are NO baffle speakers, I have never heard one of those sound anywhere near as authentic as what I've heard with open /infinite baffles. IMO that has to do with Xmax required to create dynamics and the distortion that comes with higher SPLs.
Adding to crossovers does not help either.

if you have the space for it, that sounds very good ,in normal living spaces this is impossible. your tesla woofer have a qts 0.4 you lost 10dB sound pressure at resonance frequency 35-38hz full pressure. I would like to see a measurement when you are done. I wish you a lot of fun listen music:)

NOt sure where you found a Qts of 0.4, this is what I found

In my current design the horn lifts ~3 dB up to 500Hz, there for sure is a drop below full spl from ~50Hz down but the definition is there also due using three woofers with plenty surface area.

.

yeah there are enough different Tesla's all with very similar numbers....the 942 does not sound anywhere near as good as 835 infinite baffle or used otherwise.
