But players do get streaky

yeah, and pitchers get stingy too. i recall hershiser and steve carlton...the hot batters just couldn't hit over them.

Nobody more than Bob Gibson. Granted the height of the mound was altered but his post-season stats are mind boggling:

In three post-season

W-L 7-2
ERA 1.89
IP 81
SO 92
WHIP: mind blowing 0.889

Likely the best pitcher ever... The mount was lowered because of him .. Scary pitcher too ...

What a great series. Who would have thought that the Cards would have won it. Almost like the Giants of last years

This was one of the best (if not THE best) Series I have ever seen

My feelings too. Congrats to the Cardinals. 11 WS titles.

Agreed,, one of the best World Series ever.
The cards deserved to win, they played their ass off & got hot a the right time of the season.

They also had home field advantage which I feel played a part.

Feel sorry for Texas, they had a great year & deserved a better fate.

Thjey would be nuts not to re sign him or Albert

I agree but it seems he wants to test the market. Birds offered him a great contract. You've got two team with new owners that have deep pockets (Marlins, Natnls, Cubs). If I were guessing, Pujols to the Cubs and Fielder to the Natnls.
