QSA LANEDRI Series

Veridion technology has been a breakthrough for us, and introducing the Discovery series required a complete reshuffle of our production process to enable mass production.

I’d like to sincerely thank all of you who have been patient and supportive during the time it took to put the updated production system in place. We believe the performance and impact of the Discovery Veridion products will make the wait a distant memory.

We look forward to hearing your impressions of these products.

The audio portion of my AV system is comprised of a Marantz SR6015 receiver driving ELAC UniFi speakers in a 5.2.4 configuration. Nothing too extravagant, in other words. The two surround speakers are placed behind my listening position in a way that has kept me from being convinced that the soundstage fully surrounds me. Swapping in the QSA-L power cords has been remedying this issue. It took a nice step forward in this area last night with the not-yet-burned-in Veridion power cord and Ethernet cable feeding my TV.

I have been watching an episode of The Lazarus Project nightly now for about two weeks. Steadily feeding myself this has equipped me with good baseline to asses changes. Also, that this series deals with time travel, I have been repeatedly exposed to several instances of sound effects, like a plane flying overhead for example. While this series isn’t offered in Dolby Atmos, my receiver will attempt to generate simulated height information and what I heard last night was the most convincing presentation of it to the point where I taken aback by it. Even more convincing though was how well portrayed the entire soundstage was around me. The improved clarity allowed more low level details to emerge which closed the gaps that had existed previously. The image thrown to directly to my left and right was as clearer and more palpable than on any previous sitting. I actually paused a few times to take note of how well surrounded I had become.

One the video side of things, I am not sure I spotted that much of an improvement compared to previous viewings with the original Veridion cord powering my TV. With that previous cord, improvements to the picture came some time after they could be observed from the audio, so I expect it might be another day or two before my eyeballs start popping out of my head.

Back to the audio - one thing I really appreciate about what I heard from swapping in the QSA-L is an increase in naturalness that takes an edge off while also bringing a sense of refinement. This humble audio system is doing some things that one usually has to spend a good bit more money to achieve.

I'm sure we've all been there before, you bought a new cable, and you are switching back and forth between your new and old cable, wondering if you can hear a change in sound.. "yes, I can hear a difference.... wait, I'm not sure.... nope, I am hearing a difference...." as you strain and focus while listening to your audio test tracks. Over time you triangulate things and get a firm handle on the sonic changes.

The Discovery power cord and ethernet cables are different. The sonic impact of the Veridion tech is not at all subtle.

Cold out of the box, you can hear it immediately and there is no doubt. The improvements to the realism, transparency, detail, soundstage, holography just hits you like a ton of bricks. I'm having to recalibrate my brain. I am working my way through my system and adding the Discovery power cords component by component, starting with my 3 daisy-chained switches and their power supplies, then to my music server. My system uses 3 ethernet cables and I swapped all those in at once. Next I'll install the power cords in the DDC, DAC, Preamp, Power amp, and then the subwoofers over the next few days, listening as I go, until I have a full loom of Discovery powered gear.

Then I'm going to let things cook for a week and will report back. I am trying to withhold my enthusiasm until I have the full loom in and cooked, but it is difficult. These cables are proving to be transformative, in a very positive way.

Very cool, Blake! You and I are on similar tracks, it would seem.

I will say that several times during the movie last night I thought, "I don't remember the DAC or the multi-channel amp in the Marantz [SR8015] sounding this good..." but I dismissed it because I was watching a disc I'd never seen on my system before and the Veridion cables were pretty much cold (at most a few hours of settling on each)...

But now I'm not so sure I didn't dismiss my initial, positive impression without warrant.

I look forward to revisiting some familar content and seeing how it stacks up to my memory of same.

That pic was taken earlier this year. I'm in Salt Lake City. We have leaves now.

Anas Lanedri is a WIZARD.
How does he make these generic cables perform at this level?
Truly amazing.
I received two power cables and one Ethernet cable earlier this week and have been slowly integrating them into the system one by one.
Each one has made a noticeable and positive effect.
The most notable aspect is in dimensionality . Fully enveloping.
Secondary traits are a more detailed and yet composed presentation.
Complex music maintains its integrity, while voices become more intelligible.
It’s kind of embarrassing to replace my fire hose sized power cables with these “spaghetti thin” power cables. But the sound speaks for itself.
I am impressed.

Unfortunately, for your wallet, yes, and the benefits appear to be additive. What we are finding is that the more "traditional" wire you replace with QSA-treated wire, gains are to be had and these gains are generally not subtle.

In my testing, it has greater impact than a much more expensive AfterDark dual-stacked Buffalo switch with their best OCXO and in some situations, it has greater impact than the Discovery power cord. At this point in time, it will easily outclass a Gamma LAN cable and so rather than upgrade your Gamma Infinity or Revelation LAN cable, save your money and purchase a Veridian Discovery LAN cable.

That means we could simply get a decent PSU with 48V DC output

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009154113765.html

Then keep stacking PoE router followed by multiple units of PoE switch, both power and data could share the same QSA-L magic together

https://intona.eu/en/products/poesy
https://mikrotik.com/product/RB960PGS
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006419371945.html

Since that particular PSU linked above should be rated @ 48 × 3.5 = 168W, just wondering how many units of Intona POEsy could be stacked with the current provided by a single PSU?

https://intona.eu/downloads/IN3034DS-POEsy_Ethernet_Switch.pdf
IEEE 802.3af (PSE class 1, 2, 3; PD class 1) 12.95 W max.

OTOH, it might work even better if we're doing something similar to QSA LAN Jitter instead

https://www.whatsbestforum.com/goto/post?id=913870

Just order this nice coupler in bulk and then start treating all of them in one fell swoop

https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/568-NE8FFX6-W

Since we only need to send data over CAT6 this time, hopefully daisy chaining a dozen of them would still work just fine

Thanks for posting the links to the two posts from Romaz. I had forgotten about these and your timing is perfect as I was just trying to decide my path forward.

A while back, @jeremya brought over his long run of the original Gamma Infinity so we could hear it relative to a few Ethernet switches we were comparing. I was gobsmacked by the improvements it brought over my fiber run.

I had just reached out to Anas to inquire about a longer run (8m) of Discovery so I could replace the fiber span. I leaned that custom lengths aren’t available but couplers can be purchased that allow multiple pieces to be connected in series so I will be giving that a try. I will be getting 4 more Discovery Ethernet plus couplers to cover from wall to my switch and then potentially the one I received last week to use in place of my Sigma Ethernet that is between my switch and streamer. This should be interesting.

When it comes to the Discovery Veridion Ethernet cables, we found that the longer, the better. This isn’t a sales pitch—we first discovered the effect by connecting two cables together, and each time we added another, the impact was amplified in ways that genuinely surprised us.

To make this possible for everyone, we decided to offer an RJ45 female-to-female coupler, allowing multiple Discovery Veridion Ethernet cables to be connected. This principle does not apply to HDMI or DC power cables, where shorter lengths remain preferable.

We’ll soon be updating the website to include the RJ45 female-to-female coupler, treated with Veridion and priced at USD 50, available exclusively as an add-on with the Discovery Veridion Ethernet cable.

I’m very eager to be surprised! I will be sure to report my findings once the cables and couplers land here.

Very cool!

I'm still appreciating the impact of the veritable loom of Veridion Discovery cables deployed earlier this week (network, power, and HDMI). We watched Lord of the Rings in 4K and the cumulative effect was constantly making me want to take my phone out and to snap pictures, but hardly any of them came out to my satisfaction. (I was also watching with my wife and kids, so I couldn't justify stopping the movie every time something cool looking popped up on screen!)...

I also teared up several times for the first time in many viewings. Whether this was the overall impact of the sound and the picture being improved or something else, I cannot say, but I take it as a win. Certain scenes arrested me with how pretty things sounded, and details I'd never noticed really leapt out at me. There's a scene in the Extended Edition (disc 1) called The Passing of the Elves (it’s in Chapter 11, about 45 minutes in) where the wood elves are walking through the woods singing a beautiful song. It was hauntingly beautiful with the Veridion loom in place. The surrounds in the mix especially stood out in a way I don't recall hearing before. The whole presentation was lovely.

Here's one photo of Sir Ian McKellan as Gandalf the Grey I'll share as it came out the best of the lot: Shot on an iPhone 13 Pro in RAW mode (TV is an 83" LG C2 OLED), then zoomed and cropped in the Photos app on said iPhone and snapped as a screenshot (as it refuses to send the RAW photos via email) where it was converted to .jpg, then downloaded and re-uploaded here. Despite all that it still looks pretty good. (Who knew Ian McKellan wore contact lenses?)

I just did a few comparisons between my Shunyata Sigma Ethernet and the Veridion with this being the cable in use between my EtherRegen and Antipodes K50. What I have heard so far has me preferring the Veridian. The Sigma sounds slightly artificial in comparison with it having some grain that can’t be heard with the Veridion. That’s not even the most important difference, but I don’t yet have the words to describe it well other than to say that voices and instruments sound more beguiling. I want to give the Veridion more time to settle in before saying anything too definitive other than to say that it’s astonishing that a $250 cable can sound this good.

We are grateful to those who have taken a chance on these Discovery power cords. These cables that started life as $5 Monoprice cables were intended to be used exclusively for this past AXPONA to introduce Veridion to the public and not for public sale but we couldn't resist because we realized they allowed individuals a relatively inexpensive and risk-free opportunity to experience the impact of Veridion in their own systems. The upside, hopefully, is that people experience a boost in sound and video quality that go well beyond the $250 selling price, at least compared to other products available on the market today. While there is the added convenience that these cables are lightweight, flexible, and easy to maneuver and hide behind your racks, no doubt, these cables are not very attractive and even worse, the labels we have applied are not of the highest quality. From Jeremy's photo, you can see that some of these labels are already coming off. Our apologies.

We are looking for more professional options. We approached Monoprice about embossing or imprinting our logo and serial number onto these cables and that option is there but we would have to purchase quantities well into the thousands to have that done and we haven't even decided if these cables will be a permanent product for us. Nonetheless, we hope to have more durable labeling applied with future orders.

Should your label come off, not to worry. As a customer, we have you and your purchases logged into our database. Should you require service for the lifetime of this product, that will be honored, even if the label delaminates. Should you require authentication of the product for resale purposes, we are capable of verifying the authenticity of products we have treated and can provide a certificate of authenticity should that become necessary. Ultimately, the labels were placed because these cables are directional and the labels are designed to show direction. This is not so important with AC power cords but are definitely important with the LAN and HDMI cables. They were also put into place so that you don't confuse them with other similar-looking cables you might have at home. Should these labels start to delaminate, please attempt to secure them. If they come off completely and become lost, consider wrapping some colored tape around a specific end of the cable so that it is clear to you which end plugs where and to prevent confusing these cables with your non-QSA Lanedri cables.

Today, my wife said to me....it sounds like the quartet is in the room. All I did was place a Veridion PC on my crossover to my speakers and installed a Veridion Ethernet cable from my Muon Pro to my Lucas Audio Music Server. Wow!

I did a few more comparisons between those two Ethernet cables. This time it wasn’t as close. The Veridion just does a better job of getting out of the way the music. The Sigma, for example, harms how clearly Janis Ian and her piano come across on Some People’s Lives from her spectacular Breaking Silence album. Both her voice and piano sound more magical through the Veridion.

Holy crap. I have got a new telly...(nearly a 10 year lg oled) ;0)
The picture is now so clear, sharp with incredible calm and color reproduction.

It's almost a bigger difference than when I went from an Apple tv 4K to an Apple tv X.
So Chris(Xymox) You have to buy a Veridion Discovery AC cable to Your telly and Apple tv X psu, a Veridion Discovery hdmi and a Veridion Discovery ethernet cable.

It's crazy how much they provide along with the Veridion Discovery Strip
and I haven't even mentioned the sound yet.

Hmm, I think I have to buy some more Veridion Discovery power cables…
and yes, I don't even dare to think about how good the Veridion series Gamma, Spectra and Ultimatum will sound.
Fortunately, that is out of my reach, but I am happy with how much the Veridion Discovery cables give...it is almost magical and at a price I can afford.

Anas and Romaz, thankyouuuuu.

It would be interesting to see the same shot with your old cable installed for comparison. If that’s not too much trouble?

Unfortunately, that's not just "an" old cable -- it's Power and Network cables for my NAS, 3 switches, and the Player, plus the HDMI cable... so ~11 cables in total?

Earlier in the thread I did do a shot-by-shot comparison of just the effect a first-generation Veridion Discovery power cord* had on my TV before I started swapping everything around: https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/qsa-lanedri-series.36078/page-39#post-1052866

* This was part of the crop that (per @QSA-LANEDRI) only had about 10% of the intended treatment applied to it!
