I agree. Wow. The sheer power from the brass and percussion sections and then the transitions to the strings and woodwinds comes through clearly over YouTube and cheap speakers. Very good portrayal of nuance, power and finesse. The range of scale is also very impressive. Also great energy. Well, done, Tim.
I doubt that audio recording quality is significantly different across various Smartphones models. People care about photo and video quality, but I never see much discussion about audio recording quality. I would bet that most manufacturers probably use the same micropohones and ADC chips. I could be wrong.
Setting aside phones, do you perceive differences between Tima's and your videos?

Yes. I perceive even differences between Tim‘s videos and your videos. This is to be expected. All of our systems sound different in our rooms and those differences are more or less reflected in these system videos.
Al, what do you think is more important? Which telephone presentation you prefer with the richer mid range or the one that does a better job at recording the sound in the room?
Personally, I want the one that does a more accurate job of recording the presentation in the room.

How would I know what the original sound was, Peter? All I can go by is the video itself, and all I can say is I liked the recording with the richer midrange more because it was a more musically believable presentation.

You introduced an old post where someone recorded his system with two different phones. I presume the person who wrote that post and made the recordings has an opinion on which phone more accurately portrayed the presentation in the room.
I’m simply asking you if he said phone A is more accurate but you prefer phone B because it has a richer tone, which one is more important to you. It’s a theoretical question.
My Google Pixel 6a ranks 59 out of about 200 in terms of audio recording quality. I once compared it to my girlfriend's fairly recent iPhone and could not really notice a difference - iPhones rank better on that site. If you compared all those phones to a professional portable recording device, the differences between phones would probably seem fairly small.
People are using their smartphones to create ever more video content. Smartphone camera image quality has greatly improved over the years, but what about the sound quality of the microphones? DXOMARK has developed a unique set of rigorous test protocols that mirrors the experience of people who...
Tang and I did these compares and both as well others preferred the iPhone, it had a bit more emotion. That was some models ago so I don’t know what has changed. There were no other points of note

Good lawd, gentlemen. It was just a simple question. Nothing more, nothing less. Al answered my query on this thread. If you want to debate this? Start another thread.
