I downloaded this new release from Ms. Hewitt as a 24/96 FLAC file this morning. Wow. Her playing, her new Fazioli piano, and the sound are all superb. She might not "hammer" out the intense passages with the tensile strength of Pollini, but her playing is wonderfully musical and plenty powerful when needed. After all, I don't think the point of playing is to show how hard one can hit the keys.

Something out of the ordinary. “Avital Meets Avital” presents two Avitals (unrelated), one a classically trained mandolin player and one jazz bassist, playing original music tied to their Moroccan roots. 395843E6-DBC4-4689-B05A-F82628F11BA0.jpeg

An amazing musician and interesting repertoire--Nicholas Maw's "Music of Memory" is one of my favorite contemporary guitar works.

From which we might take it you are sympathetic to her playing. Not all are.

Story of her Fazioli used on this recording is one of the few stimulating bitter arch infighting stories in the usually ripe world of musicians to arise in recent years. Everything from the gall it must take for her to perform publicly to an arms linked circular dance around those buying instruments she rejected, saw all sides promoting event of this album being released.

Yes, I do like her playing. I'm not sure what your point is in the second sentence.

Besides recapping for the unaware why there was actual buildup surrounding this recording?

A lot of indisposed people in that world deserved to have their contributions recognized. It really did take on every aspect of a good story. :)
