Reassembling my Basis turntable and AirTangent 10b arm with MY Sonic Lab Hyper Eminent, I do consider a replacement for my current Hul MC silver tonearm cable.
This new cable definitely must be flexible not to ruin the Basis’ great suspension system and must be suitable for low impedance carts as my MY Sonic Lab Hyper Eminent is.
Oh, and when budget allows, I would love to add a CH Precision P1 phono stage.
I do love what their L1, X1 and A1.5 achieve in my system.

I had come across reviews of Roger Skoff’s new “RSX beyond” tonearm cable. It was said to suit low impedance carts perfectly.
The reviews of “RSX beyond” were very favorable, but aren’t they all?

So please do share your experience of MYSL carts and cables, your recommendations and maybe even your impressions of this new RSX beyond.

Thx in advance for your input!

a friend of mine uses a techdas 3 premium S turntable with two arms, a Glanz mh 1200 and a vertere semi top arm, where he mounted both an ultra eminent and a signature platinum and uses the clear beyond phono cable on both arms and the system works magnificently. Before buying these iPhone cables, he used others, including some top-of-the-line Audioquest cables and definitely some super-expensive Acrolink cables, and in the end he stuck with the Cardas ones.

For what it is worth, the UK importer of MSL uses The Zafino low capacitance cable with their cartridges

Hi 'engadin',
I have the MSL Eminent Ex linked to the current / transimpedance input of my CH P1 (with X1). Very transparent and detailed sound throughout the frequency range. So, I can imagine your Hyper Eminent may be even more so.

However, I tame this this high musical transparency with connecting my P1 (via RCA) to my hybrid (tube pre & SS power) headphone & speaker amp.

If you live in the UK, I would love to hear how your CH L1, X1 and A1.5 would sound connected to my CH P1 & X1 !

Hi Engadin,

Had a MSL Hyper Eminent in my system for many years mounted on a Graham Phantom 2 into an ASR Basis Exclusive. I only compared 2 tonearm cables during that time, one was Hovland Music Groove 2 and the other Luminous Audio Technology Silver Reference. I much preferred the Luminous cable; more alive and open sounding, better imaging and more 3D. One caveat was that in certain situations the Luminous cable was more prone to hum I do not know why, but careful cable dressing solved the issue eventually.

I later replaced ASR with CH P1, and had absolutely no hum issues whatsoever. MSL Hyper Eminent/Luminous worked wonderfully with P1's current inputs and was dead quiet.

Hope my experience helped.
