QSA LANEDRI Series

Hi Steven,
Very glad yo see that there is a QSA Forum on WBF.
Congratulations!

I think I wrote the first QSA review on WBF, back in 2012.
:D

May I ask you two questions?

Firstly, I notice on you website that QSA-Lanedri cables are being launched.

May you tell us more about them?
What metals are employed and what special features do they have?

Secondly, several frds of mine in Hong Kong have bought QSA JitterPower.
IMG-20221230-WA0009.jpg

Again, please tell the WBF members more about these series of accessories.

Many thanks!

Cheers,
CK

How does the performance of the Veridion Amazon cables compare with the original QSAL Gamma Infinity and Gamma Relevation range?

Do the Veridion series cables still undergo the QSA treatment? Or is the Veridion treatment a replacement for QSA treatment?
When comparing Discovery Veridion cables to Gamma Infinity and Revelation cables, two distinct aspects must be considered:

1. Breadth of Musical Impact

Just as Infinity technology was engineered to enhance more aspects of musical reproduction than Revelation, Veridion technology represents a true breakthrough in musical realism. It addresses dimensions of audio reproduction that surpass anything we've previously achieved with either Infinity or Revelation technologies.

2. Magnitude of Impact

While Discovery Veridion cables deliver astonishing improvements, they provide only a glimpse of Veridion's full potential. This limitation stems from their construction using basic, non-audiophile grade, low-gauge cable foundations.

By contrast, our Gamma series utilizes Blue Jeans Cables as their foundation, sophisticated, audiophile-grade designs that allow our technology to achieve a much higher impact.

In summary,

Gamma Infinity and Revelation cables: Deliver a much higher magnitude of what their respective technologies can achieve

Discovery Veridion cables: Provide an initial glimpse into Veridion's revolutionary approach to music realism, but with limited implementation

For a true "apples-to-apples" comparison, evaluating Gamma Veridion against Gamma Infinity reveals the transformative leap that Veridion technology represents in musical realism.

It doesn't say how Monoprice Veridion cable compares to the Revelation or Gamma Infinity models. That said, it will "only" cost $250 to make this comparison in one's own system.

It doesn't say how Monoprice Veridion cable compares to the Revelation or Gamma Infinity models. That said, it will "only" cost $250 to make this comparison in one's own system.
That is precisely what the Discovery Veridion cables were specifically created for in order to offer both existing and new clients the opportunity to experience our groundbreaking Veridion technology at a nominal, risk-free investment. For our existing clients, we gladly accept Discovery Veridion cables as credit toward upgrading to our premium Gamma, Spectra, or Ultimatum series should they choose to advance their audio journey. While our primary focus remains musical reproduction, it's worth noting that Discovery Veridion cables deliver remarkable improvements to home theater systems, providing startling enhancements to TV audio clarity and even refining visual vibrancy.

As transformative as our Infinity and Revelation technologies have been in elevating the music experience to unprecedented levels, Veridion technology represents a genuine breakthrough in music realism. This innovation emerges from a rigorous R&D cycle that typically spans between five and ten years, with initial Veridion research beginning in 2020 and accelerating significantly from 2022 onward.

We encourage everyone to experience the Discovery Veridion cables and share their impressions, comparing them to any cables at any price point. Ultimately, our goal is to perfect the musical experience, with technology serving as the enabler of our shared audiophile passion.

So would the sound quality and price summary be in this order (for power chords)?

Amazon Veridion $250 *
Gamma Relevation $2500
Gamma Infinity $4000
(or Amazon Veridion $250 *)
Gamma Veridion $4500
Ultimatum Infinity $18000 *
Ultimatum Veridion $19500

* please especially confirm the positioning of these. The way you describe the Veridion process suggests the ranking of the Amazon Veridion might be higher than the Gamma Infinity which is a worry for existing owners of the GI.

A clear understand of where your existing customers’ cables fit in is important for the decision to upgrade and to reassure us that the value of our purchases are retained after just 2 short years after launch even without the upgrade.

For transparency, please do confirm that QSAL is still using the QSA process on the new Veridion cables.

To clarify our recent communications: with the introduction of Veridion technology, we are phasing out both the Revelation and Infinity product lines. Going forward, our commercial catalog will feature exclusively:
  • Gamma Veridion Series
  • Spectra Veridion Series
  • Ultimatum Veridion Series
  • Discovery Veridion Cables (limited-time offering)

Our Commitment to Existing Clients

Our loyal clients remain at the core of our transition strategy. We've created a specially priced upgrade path allowing current owners to experience Veridion technology at the lowest cost we can reasonably offer. This approach reflects our dedication to ensuring that all our customers—both existing and new—can share in the exceptional musical experience that Veridion delivers.

The decision to introduce Veridion wasn't driven by commercial interests, but by our genuine desire to share the musical joy we discovered through this technology. We understand the dilemma companies face when introducing significant upgrades: how to balance innovation with loyalty to existing customers. Our upgrade proposal aims to make this transition as smooth and affordable as possible.

Looking Forward

Is Veridion the end of our technological journey? We doubt this very much. As passionate audiophiles, we will continue pursuing the next breakthrough, it's the foundation of our brand's existence.

Does one need to upgrade to Veridion? Not necessarily, if you're satisfied with your Infinity or Revelation cables. However, in our experience, once Veridion is heard, there's no going back.

Should one wait another 5 years for the possibility of the next breakthrough? This personal decision ultimately comes down to when "enough is enough" for your listening enjoyment.

Should a company with ongoing R&D halt sales while developing the next innovation? We believe this serves neither the company nor customers who don't want to delay their musical enjoyment.

We strive to find the right balance, treating all clients with equal consideration while fulfilling our mission to share musical joy as broadly as possible. While we may not satisfy everyone, we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to this goal.

For transparency, please do confirm that QSAL is still using the QSA process on the new Veridion cables.
Quantum Science Audio (QSA) represents our foundational research platform, with Veridion standing as our latest breakthrough technology under this innovative umbrella.

Is the new $1000 line still in the cards to fill the gap left by the Revelation series?
We're extending our Discovery Veridion series with additional cable types as part of our limited-time promotional offer. This expansion will provide more entry points for experiencing Veridion's transformative impact while increasing awareness of our breakthrough technology.

Yes to the latter. So the Verdion USB cable is the Gamm Infinity + Veridion, aka Gamma Veridion. Apparently no more split Gamma line.

Speaking of the USB GV cable, it’s a substantial improvement over the GI. Tonally, while mine is still burning in (off system), at 100 hours the neutral voicing was the same. I'll follow up at around 300 hours.

In addition to the two Stereo Times reviews of the Discovery power cord, Alpha Audio did a quick comparison, including measurements, of the Veridion vs. what I assume was the $5 Amazon cord on which it was based.

Thanks for confirming this @highstream

Good to hear the new Veridion range still uses QSA tech and the relationship with Steven isn’t broken. I’m assuming the Veridion process is on top of the QSA process and the effect accumulative.

Please support your existing customers and assure us our current pre-upgrade investment in the QSAL brand is secure. I feel like we are being forced to upgrade. But having to do so without a clear understanding of what comparative benefits before and after the upgrade. Repeated mention that the V series is good but how does the old G,S and U series compare with the V series?

There is mention the GV exceeds the GR and GI by quite a bit. Good data point. Does the new Gamma Veridion range exceed the Ultimatum Infinity range?

Hi Anas and everyone here, I have been lurking here for a while reading about QSA-Lanedri’s innovations with cabling and the QSA treatment with interest over the last 2 years and am finally very happy to have just dipped my toe into the QSAL waters and ordered two of Veridion Discovery power cables. Like many people's early comments here, my initial reaction was one of incredulity but the customer reports and ongoing R&D that has been carried out by Anas and people whose ears I have come to trust have been compelling reading.

I have been a long-term user of SR fuses and some time ago a trusted contact on this forum introduced me to QSA fuses. The result was enlightening! I look forward to posting more details about my system, results of listening tests and experiments with placement of these cables as I gently introduce myself to Anas' creations!

Cheers,
Crom

Quantifying the comparative impacts between the Infinity and Veridion cables is challenging, as it pertains to the emotional musical experience. When comparing Gamma Veridion to Gamma Infinity, Spectra Veridion to Spectra Infinity, or Ultimatum Veridion to Ultimatum Infinity, the foremost impression is an unprecedented sense of realism.

The initial batch of Discovery Veridion cables is scheduled for dispatch in the coming weeks. We eagerly anticipate your impressions and comparisons with other cables across the market.

No. The Gamma Veridion does not, and is not intended to, surpass the Spectra Infinity or Ultimatum Infinity in terms of the overall magnitude of impact. Both the Spectra Infinity and Ultimatum Infinity are engineered to deliver a higher degree of sonic influence, leveraging the full potential of Infinity technology.

What distinguishes Veridion technology is its ability to deliver aspects of musical realism that are simply not available with Infinity technology, this is the fundamental reason for Veridion's existence.

A glimpse into Veridion's capabilities can be experienced through the Discovery Veridion cables. As one progresses through the series, from Gamma Veridion to Spectra Veridion, culminating in the Ultimatum Veridion, the magnitude of impact and the depth of realism intensify significantly.

This is to follow up my previous comment about the Gamma Infinity Veridion USB cable, based on listening at 100, 300, 350 and now at 400 hours. Anas had earlier sent me the GI USB, which I was about to return, finding it lacking any bit of warmth. But he then offered to extend the audition period with the Veridion, when it was ready, along with a QSA'd A-A USB adapter that he thought would add some warmth.

Before the more recent listens, while I was still using the Sablon Evo USB (on loan), I moved adapters and power cables feeding a few of the SDFBs around to maximize warmth. In fact, it ended up being a little too romantic for my tastes, but I wanted to give the QSA a good shot. Here's what I found:

Strengths:
- Clear
- Dynamic
- Fast
- Wide soundstage
- Well-Balanced across frequency spectrum
- Presence
- Swings

Not so strong:
- Noticeable lack of body, somewhat thin in that sense
- Felt like I was hearing instruments and voices playing with little to no emotion, not involving (e.g., the Jonny Hartman/Coltrane album was telling -- I heard Hartman several times during the '70's in Chicago)

I don't know about the Ultimatum level, which I can't afford, but the Gamma Infinity level voicing just hasn't worked for me on three tries. Of course, YMMV, and depending on your system and tastes I wouldn't want to suggest the Veridion update isn't worth a try. I do want to thank Anas for his first-class generosity, service and patience in working with me to get the most out of the audition period. He's a good guy.

Thank you @highstream for your valuable feedback.

USB cables are among the most challenging to develop in our R&D, which is why their introduction came nearly three years after we launched our first cable series.

With our technology, the mass of the conductors plays a critical role in performance, and this is exactly where higher gauge cables address some of the points you mentioned. The Spectra and Ultimatum USB cables are currently in advanced stages of R&D, but they are not yet ready for commercial release.

The Significance of Veridion

I was home in Hawaii in late 2024 when I received a DM from Anas one afternoon. I hadn’t heard from him in awhile and he told me he had come up with something new and he wanted to send me a few small items. From time to time, I get requests from friends, colleagues, and manufacturers to listen to something new and in the past, I had been much more open to discovering new things related to audio but since moving to Hawaii at the beginning of 2024, I had lost interest and could no longer really be bothered.

My wife and I chose to move to Hawaii because we wanted to enjoy all the outdoor opportunities offered by this tropical paradise and so my focus now was largely on activities that require movement. I was also now in a much more confined living space and so gone were my giant class A monoblocks, dCS Vivaldi, and Taiko Extreme. I decided to keep my Wilson Alexia 2s which are really overkill for my room but fortunately, fronted by a much more space-efficient but still very capable CH Precision I1 streaming amplifier, I was still getting very good sound and music was still very much a part of my life. However, gone was the lifelike scale I was used to in my previous home and so gone also was my desire for further exploration and tinkering. I had essentially transitioned from audiophile to mere music lover.

When Anas reached out with his offer, I couldn’t tell him “no” but it was a half-hearted “yes.” Shortly after, I received a package from Belgium that contained a cheap looking 18awg power cord, LAN cable, and HDMI cable. What was I supposed to do with these cables that looked like they were purchased from Amazon? Anas told me while he was still partnered with Steven in Hong Kong, he was now treating cables in Belgium and not having to fly back and forth to Hong Kong anymore. Because Steven is so busy and because Anas now had more time on his hands, he was able to come up with what he felt was a more transparent version of Infinity which was previously QSA’s best treatment.

My curiosity was piqued but not really that much. I already had a virtually full loom of QSA Lanedri cables, from Gamma to Spectra to the Ultimatum Infinity power cord powering my CH Precision I1 and while my system is much simpler these days, I was convinced there was no way a piddly 18awg power cord could have a positive impact. I asked Anas what I should compare this skinny power cord against? A 10awg Gamma Revelation cord powering my router? He asked me to compare it against the Ultimatum Infinity powering my CH Precision I1. Ok, that was a bold thing to ask. If Anas wanted to get my attention, he now had it.

Veridion (version 1 prototype) vs Infinity vs Revelation

The enjoyment of music is very much subjective and there are those who prefer Revelation to the more expensive Infinity but to my ears, while Revelation sounds pleasantly full bodied and inoffensive, it lacks the transparency and brilliance of Infinity. Compared to Infinity, Revelation sounds more “forgiving” and can benefit systems that are lean or bright or recordings that are harsh but in the right system and with well-recorded music, Infinity is the superior treatment.

When I disconnected the giant 0awg Ultimatum Infinity power cord from my CH Precision I1 streaming amplifier and replaced it with the comparatively miniscule 18awg power cord that Anas sent me, I was struck by the physical differences between the two. Up until now, the 0awg Ultimatum Infinity power cord was the most impactful cable I had heard in my life and powering my CH Precision I1 which was the heart of my system, it was more impactful than even my 4/0 awg Ultimatum speaker cables. I didn’t believe there was any way this tiny power cable had a chance against an Ultimatum and so I opted not to give it any burn-in or settling time because I was determined to quickly put it out of its misery and instead compare it against a Gamma power cord on my router or switch which I felt would be a more fair comparison.

My immediate impressions of this 18awg power cord with an early version of Veridion were interesting to me. When I first hear something, among the things I naturally gravitate toward or at least am very sensitive to is transient response. When I blind test, it is usually differences in transient response that allow me to pick 2 different presentations apart and associated with transient response are qualities such as speed of attack, agility, physicality, but also subtlety and nuance. The Ultimatum Infinity power cord is a master of these qualities and while the 18awg Veridion cable couldn’t really match the Ultimatum in most of these areas, it was another quality that caught my attention more because of how much better it was in comparison. With Veridion, the presentation was so much clearer. It sounded more real. This small cable sounded more dynamically compressed as it should at 18awg but because of the clarity, it sounded better resolved and more lifelike. 0awg Ultimatum Infinity compared against 18awg Veridion was like comparing VHS on a giant 100 inch screen against a 4k Blu-ray player on a tiny 32 inch monitor. This is perhaps an exaggeration but you hopefully understand what I’m getting at. There is no matching the scale that Ultimatum offers, it projects a soundstage so grandly but Veridion just makes Infinity sound smeared and veiled. This new Veridion treatment was now sounding like Infinity and making Infinity sound like Revelation but to my ears, the gap between Veridion and Infinity is much bigger than the gap between Infinity and Revelation.

From here, I tried this 18awg power cable on my modem, router, switch, clock, RoonServer, and even my 98 inch TV. I compared it against an untreated 18awg power cable I purchased from Amazon, cables from other audiophile manufacturers including my other QSA Lanedri power cords and in each instance, no matter what I compared it to, the Veridion-treated power cable just sounded clearer, more alive, and more real.

Were there any negatives? Yes, a few important ones. Compared against Infinity, this initial version of Veridion sounded a bit forward in the midrange. With Infinity, you got a better sense of the recording venue. There was more bloom and space. Anas came up with a 2nd version. I had high hopes based on how good the 1st version was. He succeeded in bringing back the air and space that was in Infinity and the clarity was still there, however, the presentation had become U-shaped. Treble was tipped too bright and bass had become overpowering. It had lost balance. It seemed that tweaking could bring about positive traits but also unintentional negative traits.

It took some time but Anas got back to me with a new discovery. He was very excited. He told me he had figured out a way to make the desired changes that we were after while countering the negative consequences. Essentially, he now had more levers he could adjust during treatment. A 3rd version of Veridion was spot on. It was more of a 5th-row center presentation where you could appreciate the recording venue with symphonic music while still experiencing the engagement of sitting up close. There was better width but more impressively, there was really good depth. Most importantly, it all sounded balanced and natural sounding. Credit to Anas, he has come up with a 4th and for the foreseeable future, the final iteration of Veridion. It has all the qualities of the 3rd version but the midrange sounds even more refined. Compared against all previous QSA treatments, we feel this one is superior in every way.

My New Official Role with QSA Lanedri

I had essentially retired from audiophiledom. Veridion brought me back. I first met Anas virtually through WBF back in 2020. We were both owners of the Taiko Extreme and Chord DAVE and I had introduced him to PGGB. When he started QSA Lanedri with Steven, he asked me if I was interested in being involved in some capacity as a business partner. I declined as I felt that audio was a pursuit of passion for me and making it a business would kill the joy. Truth be told, I still feel that way although Veridion has changed my perspective enough to reconsider. We both knew we had something very special with Veridion and so Anas asked me again if I would become an official part of QSA Lanedri to help him develop it further.

I have agreed but with certain acknowledgements. I remain a working physician and also continue to highly prioritize my lifestyle in Hawaii and so my involvement with QSA Lanedri will never be a full time endeavor. My interest is not really in sales, that’s just not who I am but I also realize that is the motor that drives the business and so Anas has asked me to help handle the North American market and so I helped organize our presence at AXPONA and will likely be a presence at future shows and forums in the U.S. But my bigger interest is in R&D and product development, especially in the value sector. That doesn’t necessarily mean “cheap” but performance that we hope well exceeds expectations given the price. It was my idea, for example, to make this inexpensive $250 14awg Amazon power cable a product hoping it will allow as many people as possible to affordably experience Veridion in their systems. Some will look at this cable as a “throw away” but that would be a mistake as it has the capacity to outperform your reference power cable in important ways regardless of price. This is not a claim we make lightly, we are guaranteeing it with a 30-day money back offer.

Having experienced Veridion treatment on equipment other than cables, I would like to see QSA Lanedri launch products beyond just cables. Don’t be surprised if we soon test-launch small devices like a Veridion-treated AC power strip or fanless mini-PC at an affordable price point. Not to say they will be a permanent part of our product catalog but if the reception is favorable and we don’t run into supply chain or tariff issues, that will certainly guide whether they remain in the catalog.

At AXPONA, fortunately, our A/B demonstrations were received very favorably by both consumers and manufacturers and we are in talks with various manufacturers about co-marketing Veridion-treated versions of their products without a significant bump in MSRP. This includes devices such as power supplies, DACs, streamers, integrated amplifiers, headphones, and speakers while remaining fully supported by the manufacturer. Our broader vision is to become a technology company and not just a cable company.

Having said all of this, what are our plans for Ultimatum, Spectra, and Gamma cables? They will remain as they are and they will continue to be an integral part of our product line. No matter what other components we decide to introduce, the cables that connect these components will always continue to matter. With Veridion, gauge continues to matter and so while the more affordable Discovery series of products will provide the same character traits of transparency and refinement as the rest of the line, as you go up the line, the magnitude of impact will scale accordingly. Those who have experienced the delta of impact between Gamma and Spectra and Ultimatum, that delta will remain with Veridion.

With the Discovery series, we will be treating inexpensive products that can be purchased from places like Amazon or budget companies like Monoprice and so while these cables or components will play the part, they may not look the part. Don’t expect fancy-looking Audiophile cables that come in expensive shipping boxes that you will be proud to show off to your friends. In fact, if you decide to purchase a Discovery product and keep it beyond the 30-day guarantee period, don’t expect these products to have appropriate resale value. Just being transparent. Imagine trying to sell your $250 Discovery power cord that happens to look just like a $5 Monoprice cable on Audiogon or some other second hand market and see how many takers you get. Also, don’t boast to your spouse that you just spent $250 for a $5 Monoprice cable. It probably won’t go well. But if you value performance beyond everything else, we look at these cables as a steal, potentially outperforming other cables 50x their cost and could easily be the last power cord you will ever care to own for your entire loom of components. Despite their relatively low cost, they come with a lifetime warranty and should you decide to upgrade to a cable from one of our higher lines, we will give you 100% purchase credit toward the upgrade.

What about those who have already invested in a QL cable? As Anas has stated, if you are happy with your cable, then you’re set. If you’re curious about Veridion and whether this new treatment is for you, consider purchasing a Veridion Discovery cable at no risk and see what you think. If you decide to upgrade to a Veridion version of the cable that you own, unfortunately, we cannot untreat your cable and apply Veridion treatment to it. We are forced to start from scratch and unfortunately, the base materials for a Gamma, Spectra, and Ultimatum are quite high but the idea is to make it as easy as possible for you to upgrade, essentially charging you materials at cost and a nominal treatment fee. This pricing is reflected in the pricing already outlined by Anas.

As these Veridion Discovery power cords start to arrive to people's homes, we welcome you to try them on anything and everything and obviously, to compare them against whatever you have at your disposal, whether it be another QSA Lanedri cable or another manufacturer's cable. If at all possible, please share your experience, either publicly on this forum or privately to Anas or me if you are a manufacturer and are interested in a potential collaboration. Anas aptly called this line "Discovery" as they are meant to allow people to conveniently "discover" Veridion in the familiar setting of their personal systems, however, there are some important caveats that you need to be aware of.

BURN-IN

Burn-in, break-in, or settling time, people call it different things and some people don't believe in it at all when it comes to cables but with QSA-treated cables, it's definitely real and if you don't account for it, there is the potential for these cables to be unfairly judged. Fortunately, it's impact should be heard instantly but these cables will go through a bit of a roller coaster ride where you may think it sounds great one day and a bit worse the next day but this doesn't happen as offensively now as it did with previous treatments, There is also some high frequency harshness and midrange hardness initially but this does smooth out. Some people are not sensitive to it at all or they find that the balance of traits are so overwhelmingly positive that they overshadow the minor annoyances. While 300 hours has been thrown around as a burn-in period, some have reported ongoing improvements well beyond, What I have found personally is that the higher the current-draw of a component, the shorter the burn-in period before the sound stabilizes and so you may notice faster stability when powering an amplifier versus powering a clock. Pro tip: Using an adapter, use your Veridion power cable to power your hair dryer or vacuum cleaner for a few hours.

RESIDUAL EFFECTS

This one is tricky. Testing including lab measurements are ongoing and while we don't fully understand all aspects of how QSA treatment manifests itself, one aspect appears to be the treatment's impact on the resonance or vibrational properties of a conductor. This postulate is based on observations that if we apply treatment to something that is not directly in a component's electrical path such as the metal chassis or a ground cable, the impact can be quite profound. Then when you dissociate that item from the component, such as disconnecting the ground cable, there is a residual effect that persists for some time, similar to an oscillating spring or vibrating tuning fork. Due to forces related to inertia, it will take time for the device to settle and reach its new equilibrium.

What does this mean from a practical perspective? With regards to QSA-treated cables such as the Veridion Discovery power cords, if you go directly from your current reference to the Veridion power cord, you should hear Veridion's impact almost immediately. Yes, it's impact will increase further after a few minutes but the changes it brings about should be profound enough that you don't need to wait. However, as you switch back from the Veridion cable to your other cable, if you don't wait a few minutes, preferably at least 2-3 minutes, you will find that your other cable sounds just like the Veridion cable and you will be fooled into thinking there's no difference. Sometimes this helps our cause but more often than not, it hurts us.

Let me provide an example. At AXPONA, a particular manufacturer wanted to use our Veridion Discovery cables for their room and so we lent this gentleman a few cables. This gentleman explained to his colleague what he had done and his colleague said: "Our room is sounding so good right now, there's no way I'm going to let you use cheap Amazon cables for the show." When this gentleman told his colleague that they were already listening to the "cheap Amazon cables", his colleague's response was to switch back to their reference cables as he was convinced their $4,000 reference cables would sound better. They made the switch and listened again immediately and noticed no difference at all. It is our belief that had they waited 2-3 minutes, they would have heard a drop in SQ but they were very impressed, nonetheless, that these $5 Amazon cables sounded just as good as their $4,000 reference cables.

As you compare the Veridion cables, it will be natural for most to want to go back and forth repeatedly, at the very least an A/B/A comparison and we welcome that but what we ask is that you wait a minimum of 2-3 minutes before listening when you go from Veridion cable to a non-Veridion cable. During this 2-3 minute period, nothing has to be playing, your components just have to be powered,
