Her phrasing in that song seemed somewhat repetitive.

Your system has improved!
Very keen ears! I have made a few changes when these speakers returned to me and the improvement has been quite noticeable.

1. I put the ThiVan U300b preamp in instead of the VAC Statement. The U300b with the Mavis seems to have better synergy (they are both from the same company)

2. I grounded other sources to the preamp and from preamp into power amp instead of using ground boxes.

P/S: 3. I got rid of all absorbers and bass traps with the SF.

I concur, your previous videos sounded veiled, thought it might be your recorder but turned out to be a system fault, glad you fixed it.

I put my money on no 3 as most important

Totally agree. Absorption removes information from the presentation and once gone you can’t get it back. In my former system, I had tube traps and panels at the first reflection points. Sound was absorbed, resulting in an enhancement of other frequencies, so I thought it was an improvement, but ultimately discovered that it sucked the life out of the system and made it sound more hifi and less natural.

Try playing your speakers in a bathroom to see how natural they sound :)

Absorption only kills sound when it is not done correctly, and results in a frequency imbalance.

Interesting. My listening room doesn’t sound anything like a bathroom. Does your bathroom have carpeting and sofas? My living room is bigger than my bathroom and it doesn’t have ceramic tile all over the place either.

I agree with you that the goal is balance. Each of us is free to find that balance anyway he wants.

Indeed no 3 is the most important, my low mid was quite thin when bass traps and absorbers are in place, but they were must have with the Wilsons in my room. No 2 put the noise floor down by quite a lot, and the music has more focus and relaxed. With no 1 then I felt as if a bottleneck had been removed and the system felt faster and more responsive.
Your system sounds more alive now. Well done.

Thank you!

I was not implying that your listening room sounded like a bathroom. Anyway, you got the point.
