Piano videos

On records, Brendel is wonderful, as well as Arrau, Backhuas and Gulda.

Im thinking about may be rewiring them / change the X over to a Series
GREAT
You can use external X over boxes with speakon connectors for either parallel or series and compare easily...

But what about the vid s sound ,? ( i like the sound with parallel X over too )
With a good series X over the different drivers blend in and you get a more single driver experience (in a good way).
IMO, if you got the impression that a series is better with your lower price range speakers there is no reason to believe that your top speaker wouldn't benefit as well. Generally might be a series easier to implement in a 2-way than in a 3(+)-way speaker but if technically feasible I would try it.

With all due respect, this thread is for home system videos of piano music.

SBNX cant you post a piano vid played on your system .
Id like to hear the AV trios G3 Itron on piano ??
I would love to hear this too. I was at AXPONA last month and was able to spend some time listening to the AV Duo Mezzo's G3 (I believe I have the model correct) with the tweeter and mids powered by Phasemation 300B pse and I really enjoyed my experience!

I would love to hear the Trios!

Best wishes,
Don

I've been having some fun listening to an old pair of stand mounted Vintage Wharfedale W60 two way speakers, utilizing Alnico drivers powered by my custom EL84 tube amp.

Here is a vinyl recording of Ashkenazy playing Beethoven Sonata #17 on my trusty LP12/Naim Aro/Benz Zebrawood MC cartridge.

I love the dynamics of these speakers, the sustain of the notes, and how it captures the acoustics of the hall, etc. It's a fun little speaker that really has a way of drawing me into the performance!

Please note, this is just me playing around recording with my iPhone, handheld in the horizontal position. Please forgive any extraneous background noises, me breathing, etc motion, etc. Also, I wish I would have remembered to have cleaned the record first, but I am too old and was too tired to redo the recording, lol It's just for fun anyways.

Best wishes,
Don

Here's a video of what I think is a great vinyl record - Monty Alexander playing Live.

I'm playing it on my trusty LP12, thru my old vintage Wharfedale W60's two-way speakers, being driven by my custom EL-84 tube amp that is capable of about 12 - 14 very powerful watts ;)

These little stand mount speakers keep surprising me with their incredible dynamics (both micro and macro), their amazing speed (they never run out of gas), and their big sound. These speakers have a way of commanding my attention! I don't know if it has something to do with their Alnico drivers, or the simple crossover or what. They are so much fun :D

This video is graced by the cameo appearance of my favorite listening buddy, my golden retriever!

I hope you enjoy this one....

Best wishes,
Don

Another piece from the keith Jarret Album / Tape

Now with a 2,5 db tuned down tw @ 10 khz to get the in room response tuned down ( new small speaker in black )

FYI this is what basically all large speaker manufacturers do to get a more pleasing sound

Sounds congested...do you think having the other speakers in the room could be affecting the ones playing? Can you pick a better piano recording...this piano sounds broken...which I think it was.

IMO, this video lacks openness, life, energy. I find it very flat sounding.
