Too bad Thomas isn't planning on making the 242 anytime soon, it was up for serious consideration by me.
 
Would have to be for me to take a £5-6k punt, sound unheard, no chance of returns if not to my taste.
Sometimes it's good to have less choice, lol.
 
Are you familiar with the Telefunken RS237?
I've had it from a couple of sources this is the Holy Grail for 211 amps, especially the brass base.
Seeing single tubes go for up to £4k, meaning potentially £15k+ for a quad.
