MUNCHEN 2025 MOC / MARRIOTT The final Chapter !

One great sounding room I forgot to mention was Oaudio/Electrocompaniet playing with their top speaker Verdande:
It was really fun to listen (when the subwoofer was not active), it had the vibe and PRAT of Naim Audio in the last century

The Verdande is designed as a full range 2-way system, so subs seem overkill.
The horn has much in common with the venerable Klangfilm KL.L-302:

The woofer is quite a beastie:

Interesting coincidence that my most preferred digital source designer stumbled upon and rated my most preferred TT designer’s room

... speaks so well of the Audio Note UK demo, for which you have never had a good word to say. ;)

The AN UK at shows often sounds good with them bringing in a real cellist and everything for the shows is their top silver stuff. I just don't rate it as anywhere worth the price. Lukasz started off inspired by Kondo/AN when he was a DIYer

Compared to last year's system, this makes a lot more sense (at least to me):

There are four AE 12" woofers mounted on each side (dipole configuration), which should improve low frequency performance.

The midrange horn is the usual Tractrix with full rollback against the curved baffle (which acoustically increases the width).
The Raal Lazy Ribbon (210-10-AM) is loaded by a deep horn to improve directivity, increase efficiency and align the acoustic centers.
The midbass horn is similar to, but also inbetween the Avantgarde Trio and hORNS Universum in terms of rollback/roundover.

This system obviously requires a large space and probably at least 7 meters of listening distance for the horn sections to integrate acoustically and sound coherent. It also seems suitable for house parties, which is a plus.
Stavros is the Picasso of high-end audio, every new speaker system designed by him is part art, part audio and they all look surprisingly different. :)

I thought this sounded not bad but they had a pair of big subs turned up way too high that muddied the sound. Compression driver looked like a Faitalpro unit (orange color inside I guess from Ketone polymer they use??). Use of big SS amps from Ekectrocompaniet was not my preferred choice either. Still, heard some potential.

It was a bit of a combination of Aurora and Contendo in a single package…a very large package…

Audio Note.

Nice , i never saw / heard this audio note speaker / amp before.

Valve output stage sounds nice / non intrusive small system my favourite so far .
A small system with a natural sound which doesnt do much wrong

Just to be clear, you liked this budget Audio Note Zero setup:

better than this room with Level 3-5 gear, including the R-2R DAC + Field Coil AN-E speakers?:

Audio note
Not my cup of tea really

(It makes sense and I'll explain why).

Always great sound. First was introduced to FMA at Lyric HiFi in NYC in 1978, when I was a university freshman. Since then I have remained a fan. I still have an FMA phono and 2 preamps. So glad to see Manuel going strong.
Basil, I was at Lyric as a junior salesman in '78 when the FM gear arrived. I remember it less clearly than, say, the ML, ARC, and Jadis gear, but I do not doubt that if Mike had selected it, the gear would have been excellent.

I am generally reluctant to post about brands I represent because the “bias” police immediately go on-and-on — but Giuseppe’s effort at loudspeaker design is certainly worth hearing. Like his turntables ability to deliver amazing dynamics and transient attack, as well as flow and liquidity, these speakers are contenders. Priced between, for example, a Wilson Alexia V and Wilson Alexx V, I thought they had real drive and remarkable coherence. I’m no reviewer and hearing a speaker in a hotel room is hardly a place to pass judgement but for an initial effort creating a speaker that genuinely competes these are outstanding.

Trying to get a toe-hold in the speaker business you better make a good impression and I think Giuseppe hits the mark. Well done!

Good seeing you there at HFD, Bob, if only briefly.

I think you crossed paths with Bob.east (I’m Bob.west) @ Rhapsody you just have to remember one name, for convenience!
