It would be interesting to see if Ron moves to SS like Soulution as the main amp after resisting those of us who recommended him SS for his speakers all this time.

There are also those small SS amps that sound so good on his brand of panels in other systems. I think they are called Einstein or something.

Einstein are OTLs and hybrids. He has Hegel which he is a dealer for and which he uses in case someone wants to listen to his panel on SS. Though he wanted to biamp his panels with an SS amp for bass at one point. But as a swapper he is changing constantly so you never know let's just strap in.

Why not Hegel ? Not expensive enough?
Sorry, Hegel. Corrected. I forget he has had so many amps tough to leep track.

My mistake. It’s Westminster not Einstein.

Gleeds is the Westmisnter dealer, Keithr now has those for his Stenheims.

Ron exhibited with them and has praised them. He also likes the sound of SETs. He might consider Ralph’s Class D monos which Ralph says sound like SETs without the weaknesses and cad drive tougher loads.
They don't sound like SETs...period.

Maybe Ron does not hear the difference between SETs and Class D on Fields of Gold and Clowns, especially on his panels.

Doubtful, Ron's preferences are often more philosophically than auditory and he prefers tubes on everything " including a ham sandwich "

As Ralph preaches that SET can't do bass, i doubt he has designed his amps to sound like SET. ;)

I love Ralph's amplifiers and have heard very good things about his Class D creations. I have no doubt they will make some incredible bass. The Novacron has always been a favorite of mine!

As for SET doing bass, I expect Sasa Cokic's new Trafomatic GM-70 parallel single-ended monoblocks (65 watts per channel) may be the exception to the rule. I expect them to be in the US before year-end, so it will be fun to see what they can do. Hear This is the US Distributor for Trafomatic, so forgive the shameless self-promotion :)

Funny to make a comparison to something you claim is no good, no? Oh, I know, “Sounds like SET” is code for sounds really frickin’ good! What is, “Sounds like SS” code for… ;)
