A Plea For High-End Audio Manufacturer Honesty and Transparency

if we are to be honest here there are a few that got a tremendous amount of support from this Forum and the positive endorsement of some of its "in crowd"
IMO one or two are very obvious
this has also worked in reverse to quell the negative tides as well.
And don't forget the kool-aid drinking fan-boi's. They do a lot of the dirty work for the manufacturers. We all know who those people are based on their demands to silence the people who don't drink the same spiked drinks.

Those forum members are just a culpable as the companies.

We don’t need some high and mighty ‘hifi’ police.

“I am from the hifi manufacturer police and I’m here to help” I hope I never hear.
No one does but to pretend that there is not favored and insider status here and elsewhere is blatantly false. I don't want police either but I do think that full disclosure, fairness and ethical conduct is important even if not enforceable.
I am not saying that you are saying any of this however as a long time WBF insider you can't be unaware that some of this stuff goes on

"kool-aid drinking fan-boi's", " dirty work" , "demands to silence ", "spiked drinks" , " forum members are just a culpable" ...

Was Ron OP addressing the organized crime and I did not notice? ;)

Very very true comment , now dealers are a big part as well. No disrespect to dealers but the maker needs them to sell a product . They move boxes per say and get money before the maker in some cases . The wheel of makers ,dealers owners is not even slices .
Again most all here dealers and the rest are very good and have to read posts like mine and I apologize ahead on this .
Lastly as Ron is a great person as well as this amazing forums it makes me scratch my head who is dumb enough to do this to of all people Ron .
I can't wait for names here and when I still don't directly feel it's just makers

I agree. I think there are some members here who are dealers who do not disclose clearly and conspicuously the fact that they are dealers.

Ron, do you hold them to account if they are caught? Are there consequences? Do you kick them off and disclose their dishonesty?

you weren't notified about the televised executions?

The point is that the plea is empty if there are no consequences for dishonest behavior when it is discovered. It seems to me that many parties benefit from the status quo. Dealers love this forum because the readers have money and they are potential buyers. The forum loves the dealers because they bring traffic by discussing their products and providing content. They are selling on the platform. Manufacturers advertise and pay a fee, and some discuss their products and promote. The forum is a platform for commerce as well as information for the reader. The status quo works, but there are agendas.

If there are a few bad apples, nothing will change unless there are a consequences to their behavior. There seem to be strict rules about not naming names in these discussions. I don’t think anything is going to change. A plea is just a plea.

did you hire a lawyer?

To what end, Elliot? I have spoken to a couple of the attorneys I work with on this. So you got stiffed for $100,000? The company is of questionable solvency. You'll spend at least $100,000 in legal fees...to what end?

Yes. The Kool aid Audio Mafiso is actually the relatively unknown 6th great mafia family. ;). That was funny - well done sir.

I knew you were being a bit tongue'n'cheek but I used that as an opportunity to make the point. I do think that there are some very interesting and idealistic takes on this thread.

Oh! And it's also curious that some of the people who plug product in exchange for special accommodations are activated on this thread!
