USB cable recommended?

I keep trying more expensive, critically acclaimed USB and Ethernet Cables, doing blind A-B tests and keep coming back to Neo-tech.
What do you like so much about this cable? And how much for a meter? For 2 meter length?

It have this too. It may be my system, natch, but I infinitely prefer the Supra Excalibur. Given my huge respect for Neotech, this surprised me to say the least, but it's a thing.

I quite like the Supra as well, great cable for the price. I enjoyed the Neotech when I had it but feel the Pink Faun and Veritas Audax are significant improvements and well worth the price increases involved.

Just got caught-up with this thread; thought I’d chime in. I have nurtured a keen interest in all things related to HiFi for many years and have grown weary of all the claimed benefits of the myriad of aftermarket audio upgrades; tips, tricks, and tweeks available to enthusiasts. And perhaps also for fear of provoking my tendency toward OCD (Suspected), I have always been very careful with such purchase decisions; especially Cables. Nevertheless my basic approach is and has been “Show-me;” and as the Duke said “If it sounds good; it is good.” Therefore count me in as a believer of tweeks and upgrades; not a total “Flat-Earther” by any means but a believer generally. That said, I am currently auditioning Ideon Audio’s Siren USB cable. For about a week now, I have inserted a single cable length ahead of my Streamer in my digital signal chain and the improvements were immediately and easily discernible. The Sound Stage became more expansive; not just bigger, but more enveloping. The perception of an actual sense of space became more apparent and each performer within that space became more delineated; more real. The Sound Stage became bigger; not louder; though it did seem so; just bigger. A long with this, other noteworthy improvements to tone, timbre, timing, and dynamics we’re all there too and easy to discern. Overall, the presentation became much more believable; closer to reality… in my view. But the most impressive aspect of the Siren cable is it’s clarity. The improvement in clarity and transparency is to an extent that I can now more easily discern the different affects each digital Filter had on the incoming USB signal my DAC received. Weather by design or not, this cable has unlocked a powerful tool within my DAC that furthers my enjoyment of digital playback. For what’s it’s worth, it’s a keeper.

Hi, are there any here who have listened to or own Synergistic Research usb srx. If so, what is your opinion in relation to similar cables, for example ww platinum 8

Has anyone tried the WireWorld Platinum usb? Or perhaps the AudioQuest Diamond usb?
Fairly pricey but based on the improvement with the Pangea it may be worth it.

I bought an installed one about three weeks ago and can state unequivocally. It is a superb cable. It is $800 US for a 2 meter but look for a dealer to work with you bc you can find one to sell to you for at least 15-20% off MSRP.

I have a WW Platinum Starlight 8 USB - excellent at a reasonable price!
Excellent at a reasonable price is a winning combination.

I would definitely be up for that! Will have to wait a bit until life slows down though. Would late June be ok? I guess we can take this to messages instead of clogging up the thread.
Are you ready?

Your issue here is that the search term is wrong (and no, colleagues, I don't believe I'm simply feeding the troll).

I hope no-one is claiming that one USB cable performs better than another in audio terms because it produces fewer data errors. That would be a rookie error.

There is more to the performance of a USB cable than data accuracy, and the same applies to ethernet cables. They both transport packets of data asynchronously, so timing is all down to the quality of the clock in the receiving device. The fact that digital signals don't exist per se, so digital data is transported in analaog(ue) form and intepreted as 1s and 0s at the receiving end is a red herring, as the data is all but guaranteed to arrive accurately, neither diminished nor enhanced, because of the protocols at play.

If there is a difference between cables, it is nothing to do with the "digital" signal and whether there are or are not errors; it is everything to do with the fact that that digital signal comes over a bunch of wires and in some cables there is also a cable shield. Noise can travel down the wires and, ironically perhaps, also down a shield if it is connected/grounded at both plugs. Noise is the difference, and it is a difference which is hard to measure but clearly audible.

The materials you use make a difference. The way you shield the cable makes a difference. How you shield the cables make a difference. The actual connectors make a difference. When it comes to usb cables there is more than just data and signals involved. There are several other factors

Please elaborate.

They just do. Certain materials keep outside interference out. Thats why shielding is important. The type of metals in cables make a difference. How the cable is braided makes a difference. The connectors make a difference. Just like anything else. What you use and how you use it makes a difference.

Okay, was hoping for a technical answer.

I can't answer directly, but in a comparison with the Shunyata Research Omega-X USB I'm listening to the Synergistic Research Galileo Discovery SRX with the Master tuning module at the moment (the Master tuning module has now replaced the silver one at no extra cost). I'm also burning in a WyWires Diamond 14" power cable at the same time (for use with an SDFB), so that process is still affecting what I'm hearing some (for another week or so). The Shunyata is expansive and clear and fast, but in my system it’s a smidge on the side of neutral, perhaps a bit dry emotionally. I prefer just a touch of warmth and emotion and the Synergistic has that, even with the Master module. It just doesn't seem quite as open and expansive and clear and alive as the Omega (and even less so with the Gold module). Maybe that's solved with the $5k SRX. Will see how the Galileo develops in the next week. I may return to the Omega for a second listen if I can (someone else has asked the Cable Co. for a listen).

As you can tell from the two cables discussed, I'm looking at the second tier upper class price wise -- and so far I've found a substantial difference between some of the ~$1200-1500 cables and these two. It's for a SSD to modified Oppo 203 run. I'm wondering if there any others that compete at the two SRs' level. I've left aside the Tara Labs Master because the review descriptions suggest I wouldn't like it (e.g., detail focused). But are there any others that compete at this level of sound quality?

My main cable is Synergistic Research usb srx. I bought a sotm tx-usbultra regenerator and decided to pick up a second cable for it. The device's operation scheme requires it. Now I bought a ww platinum usb version 8 for testing. Just yesterday I set it to heat up, not even a day has passed. In 2-3 weeks I will be given a second Synergistic Research usb srx for testing. And I will compare in two categories: $1200 and $3-4000. There is also an option to take Albedo Silver usb. But I think it will lose even to ww platinum. I will say this, usb srx is an excellent cable. But I have nothing to compare it with from its price level. I really hope that ww platinum will be very close in sound to srx. I do not want to spend so much money on a second srx. But I will say that sotm tx-usbultra is very sensitive to usb and their installation. You can hear everything very well on it.

The SR SRX is $6K, the Galileo Discovery is $3400. The Omega-X is about $3800. I had been using the WW Diamond USB and found some of the $1200-$1500 cables superior, which led to my search. I've never tried the WW Platinum USB, but in ICs and power cords that line is warmer by design than the Diamond line, and not nearly as transparent. That said, the Platinum are good cables, and I'm using two or three of them in different locations.

If it turns out that srx will play significantly better than ww platinum, I will keep it. But of course I want to save this price difference.

Anyone reading this. I offer demos of our Infigo USB if interested message me
