It's also the breakup when driven outside the cones range. Paper excels at this. Exotics not so much. The diversity of speaker types, each with their own set of pros and cons is testament to a lack of consensus.

Like the concept , thou not new, styrofoam back treated paper woofers used to be popular many decades ago .

BTW you consider 32CM woofers “large” ..?

Going larger doesn t give a lower Fs ( free air resonace )
Its always a trade off between air displacement / cone weight / membrane stiffness

Ps its always very susbjective thats why people should listen for themselves and then decide on speakers .
But on the other hand i never claimed my speakers sound like live music , only a fool would claim that.

Yes out of bandwidth distortion is a big issue with those , very hard to voice them in ..!
