Zero Distortion: Tango Time

Although copper and silver have different electrical properties a lot of other things are also involved when making a cable such as wiring topology and insulation.

When I started this hobby I thought exactly like you; copper is smoother and silver is bright but while the time passes and I learn more I come to a conclusion that it doesn’t matter. There are some really great cables both copper and silver. I’ve seen both harsh copper cables and smooth silver cables. Being a better conductor doesn’t necessarily mean silver will sound better but since silver is a better conductor and if implemented well it has a potential of being better than copper, that’s all.

IME I get the best overall performance, balance, lifelike presentation and smoothness from a certain silver cable. Someday a better copper cable may show up. That wouldn’t be a surprise.

There are really great silver cables out there and harshness/brightness is the last thing to be associated with them. IMHO it’s better using best cables you can afford -preferably best silver cables- and trying to find where the brightness is coming from instead of solving a problem with another one.

Leif's system uses TAD drivers and silver cables and has zero issues with vocals so it is not the silver

@ddk Khun David maybe we should upside down the wood baffle. Those natural wood rings look naturally good. We should keep them and at most stain them to some shade.

Dear Tang,
That baffle is very attractive but unfortunately too big for your space when fully assembled.

Hey, David,

not really a problem, a horizontal orientation should solve the problem with the ceiling clearance. mr t. could change out his office chair for a futon :).

He has all the height needed but the width is what's being considered.

You got update quicker than me from David. I whatapp him almost everyday but mostly to send kinky funny picture. David is meticulous in getting the sound he wants to deliver to his customers and he is also very thorough if he sends me something he would tie all loose ends before hand so that I dont have to fix thing at site. And right now the sound in my room is miserable anyway from the new electricity line I just finished wiring direct from pole. First day I heard I almost cry. Now it is opening up but still no where near what I used to hear. Having the Klangfilm now would totally ruin the excitement.

Why is the sound so bad Tang? Did you expect the new line to make such a change or is it simply a case of new wires burning in? You can always route the Klangfilms via HK if you're not ready...

Hi Tang,if some can borrow you a PS Audio P20 you can try to connect all, your amp has no big power so can connect also them

New wire from pole to my room is about 100 meters. At first I was thinking I would go back to the old route then it started to get better. So I figure I will need to be patient. Past three four days sound changed from muddy to veiled.
