In the end, the 727+717 combination is truly wonderful.

The control increases further, and the feeling of greater body when listening to instruments makes them more real. It's difficult to describe the exact sensation, but I hope you get the idea. The depth and openness of the soundstage are first-rate. The volume levels aren't exceptional, in the sense that there's no middle ground on the scale, neither too low nor too high. In any case, it's an excellent preamp, the best I've ever heard."

Yes, you can choose from remote controller the channel one or two.

It's easy for an owner to say it sounds good, but I'll try to give an unbiased opinion. I'm using a Burmester 911 with its 808 preamp, a wonderful combination, but in my setup with my Violon VI alto a cappellas, it sounded a bit too bright. I recently switched to FM Acoustics preamps and power amps, which are beautiful and sound wonderful. I sometimes use the Select as a preamp for the power amps, but something always feels missing from the music. Finally, I got around to using the Soulution 727 preamp with the FM Acoustics 111 power amps, and I did that for about a year. I gained detail and speed, then I added the Zellaton Plural Evos, a huge improvement. Finally, I recently had a chance to listen to the 717 at home and immediately knew it would be my power amp. Here's what the 717 offers: absolute linearity with a wide soundstage, plenty of detail, the rhythmic base is always correctly present without invading the midrange, no listening fatigue, infinite power when needed. On the downside, it does get quite warm. Happy listening, everyone.

Thank you for the above. How should we interpret the performance of the 711+ versus the 717?

We're rather new partners to Soulution where I have no direct and deep experience with the former 710 and 711 power amplifiers.

The 717 has been newly developed from the ground up though and communicated as something rather different and clearly superior while still being based on some of the core Soulution principles like wide bandwidth, phase coherence, low distorsion and the use of their own switch mode power supplies.
