Picked up these 180g Friday Music pressings and I'm very happy with them. I won't go so far as to say they beat the original Warner pressing by a longshot, because they don't, but unless you have NM- copies of the originals they are a very worthy purchase. It was an easy purchase for me...$20 with shipping included for both LP's. Win, win!

I already have the 2 disc 24K Mo-Fi CD set. The time has come to get the 180g MO-Fi LP set before it's too late. Will order another one soon for when this one gets worn slap out. ;)

Nice! I keep changing my mind about picking this up...something else always gets in the way.

John, same here. It's OK to wait. Just don't wait too long. ;) I'll have to keep that in mind myself with regards to my spare copy. Good things do come to those who wait but sometimes, just sometimes, time is of the essence. Good on ya' for your "mistake" hitting the button on the Dido album. I hope you enjoy it. Currently listening too Dido's "Life for Rent".

I have pretty early WB pressings of those, they sound very very good, bought them new back in the day.

I found mint to mint minus pink rims of the original Emerson Lake and Palmer and John Barleycorn- the pink labels are crazy money today for these, but in my experience the pink rims are pretty close.

Same here Bill?, hence my comment.

I suddenly seem to see a lot of stuff from Friday Music, and hadn't heard of them until recently. They have Mountain ("Climbing") in their catalog of new releases.

They've been around for a while. From what I've heard, quality is variable, though I assume they're all from digital masters, eg. nothing is said about the source.

Not sure what the source is, and because it isn't listed I would suspect it's not analog. Still, they did a nice job on these. I also have Boz Scaggs' debut on their label and it sounds very nice, although I have no original to compare.

I've been on a roll lately, found a Piros of Yes Fragile with the 'porky' inscription for 8 bucks, cover is split but the vinyl looks good, a early Verve Oscar Peterson for 4 bucks, got a pink rim of Shoot out at the Canteen (thanks for reminding of that record guys) for a little more, and a whole bunch of other stuff, including what I think (still need to verify) is a first US pressing of Aqualung on Reprise that is allegedly mint for 8 bucks plus shipping. I think cheap original or early pressings are the most fun!

Analogue Productions SACD's (all from the analog masters):

Holly Cole Trio / Don't Smoke In Bed
Pink Floyd / Wish You Were Here
Counting Crows / August And Everything After

Here's another one of those LP's I've always wanted to get and just never got around to. I went to my local vinyl guy with the intent of picking up the Keb' Mo' MFSL pressing ( I have the SACD as well), and then found this Speaker's Corner release of:

SC releases can be somewhat hit/miss, but I've been lucky so far, so I went for it. Looking forward to giving this a spin later on.:D

Nice choice, John! I really dig the incredible talent up on stage that night.

Just now snagged a DCC 24K Gold CD of Eagles Hotel California for a crazy insane price [$75.00]. Right guy, right time, right place. Hopefully it will be worth it.

if new thats a great buy used they're around ~40, nonetheless its a great remaster. the SQ took me by surprise i have both formats they're equally enjoyable.

Good lawd almighty Rob, where do you shop? [serious question] Check out the E-bay prices for the same thing. They average around 3 bills plus for the starting price. I've been watching this on and off for 3 or 4 months. Thought I got lucky spotting an auction with 10 minutes to go w/no bids. Thought I really got lucky when I actually won the auction.

I already have a couple of versions but curiosity and constantly seeking better always gets the best of me. IIRC, they retailed for $29.00 back in 1992 before I even knew what DCC was. So, to pay around 40 smackers over retail [minus the cost of inflation since then] some 2 decades plus later for an OOP CD like this? Yeah, I'm good with it. If you can find them used for around 40 bucks, please let me know your source. I have many more OOP albums I'd like to purchase!

BTW, it wasn't new. Mint but not new.

Well, don't I feel like the donkey. I guess I'm checking at all the wrong times. I really need to make the time and learn how to properly navigate that site [rarely use it]. Thanks, Rob. Lesson learned. ;)

Rob, what's the best vinyl for their early work, the album with Desparado, and Hotel California? I have the Hell Freezes over Tour on vinyl, and while it is very 'pizzazzy' sounding, i think it is a tad juiced up. Haven't listened it for a while for that reason. I know I have a bunch of old copies of individual albums but haven't sorted through them.
