Beethoven/ Mendelssohn Violin Concertos - Heifetz* Munch [Boston Symphony Orchestra]

"The Stone Roses" by The Stone Roses.
About as good as it gets from the U.K. in the last 20 years. Oh, to be that age again.

Love with Arthur Lee "The Forever Changes Concert" at The Royal Festival Hall
Still sounds good. Arthur's voice was much better back in '67. It's beyond me how folks in the U.S. never seemed to take to this group as much as the Brits.
R.I.P., Arthur

OK...which would people say i should get:

Ella & Louis Armstrong: FIM 32bit Remaster?
Ella & Louis Armstrong: Analogue Productions Hybrid SACD Remaster?

My (current) players is Zanden (16/44.1).

I have been super-impressed with Analogue Productions so far...but also have been impressed by FIM 32bit Remasters!

The Shelby Lynne LP was a HUGE disappointment and not because of the quality of the songs or the recording itself. Can you say “NOISY?” This LP is the type of LP that drove people to digital in the first place. This is the 180 gram version (the 200 gram version won’t be released until the end of February) and it only cost $12.99. I assume I just received a terrible pressing and they aren’t all this noisy. It makes me want to buy the CD so I can find out what it really sounds like and those words border on heresy for an analog lover. I guess I will get sucked in and buy the 200 gram version too when it comes out and hope for the better.

This one is a no-brainer; buy both of them.

i knew someone was going to say that...;) i bought the MFSL Ella & Louis Again and then the FIM 32-bit Ella and Louis. I decided to pass on the new Analogue Productions Ella and Louis SACD for now.

I agree..... bought this pressing and it's as noisy as can be. Annoyingly so! Massive disappointment!

Eddie-Glad to know I'm not alone as misery loves company. Must be some terrible vinyl and/or the master stamper was roached. I clean every LP each time before I play it, and usually when the LP comes off of my VPI 16.5 RCM, they look pristine. Not so with the Shelby Lynne LP. I had a feeling I was in for some trouble.

i found the cd used for $3 at a punk/hardcore store the kind of place that treats this sort of music like kryptonite. i can hear analogue tape someone said she used vintage tube mics, i hear all of that. i ripped it to my music server playing though a NOS dac it sounds great. i wont be playing roulette with the vinyl issue, thanks for the heads up.

I'd go with Analogue Productions (SACD) myself, but I bet the FIM recording is good as well.

Right now I am listening to Classical Operas on the r.a.d.i.o. :b

* P.S. Shelby Lynne; she ain't everyone's cup of tea. Some tunes of hers are good,
others are just plain abrasive and irritating, bordering on total annoyance.
- Glad to know now that your LP is not what one would have believe it was.
...I'll stay away from that one; thanks for the tip. :b

Perhaps SACD is my first clue on my bias. :b

Analogue Productions is also a quality recording label, second clue on my bias.

* And like I said, FIM is also good at what it does; quality recordings using the latest and best technologies.

Conclusion: I bet you'd be happy with either one.
Just toss a coin, and wish it falls on its right 'flipping' side, and that the cost reflects the luck! :b

Thanks...since i am 16/44.1 only and have access to other Analogue Productions SACD-hybrids where there are no FIM equivalents, i went with FIM on this one. On Oscar Petersen, We Get Requests, i went with Analogue Productions SACD hybrid.
