What's Spinning Tonight?

Here's what won't be playing tonight

My saga with trying to buy a copy of Jackson Brown's Late for the Sky continues. I talked about the first copy I bought from Ebay and the guy sent me a total piece of junk. I bought another copy from a guy in England and it arrived today...in my damn mail box. The mailman folded the LP up like a pretzel and shoved it in my mailbox. I still can't fu**ing believe it.

Gee Mark,

You can't seem to catch a break. I am really sorry to hear about this. I have been fortunate where the PO has always either rung the door bell and made a hand delivery or left my vinyl copies on the front step (back step where I used to live). The same has been true when I have won or ordered R2R tapes.

I wish you better luck in the future.

Rich-There is plenty enough of blame to go around here. The guy in England should have never shipped the LP in the flimsy shipping envelope. It should have been shipped in a sturdy cardboard box. The post office shares some of the blame. The flimsy package was clearly marked as Fragile in big bold red letters on both sides. The label on the front of the package clearly identifies the contents as a record LP. So what part of fragile did the mailman think it was ok to fold this LP up and jam it in my mailbox? This was a case where dumb meets dumber.

I am listening to this on CD:

The guy in England just refunded my money which is cool. I'd rather had the LP in good shape though. Maybe the third time will be a charm.

Colbie Caillat.

Love her music style, her voice and she has a very high "adorability factor"

Picked it up at my favorite record store, Starbucks !! This album is called All of You

A Ewing Nunn recording!

Sensational sound and music. Get the original red vinyl/gold label. Nunn's custom built mikes and electronics (I think Rich Brown now has the mikes in his possession) made the Audiophile releases among the more transparent recordings ever done. Musicians are in the room and Doc's cornet must be heard to be believed. Maybe a touch hot because Nunn used his own RIAA curve.

I picked up 5 new LPs today and they will be spinning tonight.

Christmas music! Just felt like it, and my last night before my family returns home and my media room reverts to the boy's game room. :( Casting Crowns and Fresh Aire; thinking about arrangements for the church Christmas season. - Don

p.s. Seeing the Miles album reminds me I have to get practicing; thought I was off for a few weeks but found out the big band I dep in now and then needs me to take the lead in a week... Should never have slacked off!
