Wadax World Premiere at Munich Highend

@WADAX
@Elliot G.
IIRC, Wadax announced in Munich further devices in the Studio line, like a streaming DAC without a CD/SACD transport.
Is this correct?
If yes, when will it be released?
Thank you :)
What I do know from what I have been told ( this does not mean things wont or cant change BTW) there will be an outborad power supply for the studio player and an outboard clock for it as well. I think and I say think that they will probably show these items at the show in Munich and deliver them sometime after the show. This is not fact at this time just what I have heard.
If they are to produce a DAC on its own I would assume that is further down the road ....maybe
BTW the Studio Player IMO is too good for what they sell it for and I believe that most people that get one in thier system won't worry much about the future but rather just love what they are hearing now. The Studio player is special.

I had a lot of people ask me how the Studio player compares to the Wadax Reference System I also own.
First I think this is not really a comparison since the studio player is not supposed not be a ref competitor.
I say this because it isn’t!
This is not a bad thing it’s just reality and it’s not fair to expect it to be with Wadax or any other company. An entry level speaker from Wilson or Magico are not competing with their reference level products .
Ok so then what is a Studio Player and how should one approach it IMO
On a value scale it’s off the chart it broke the chart .
I prefer Qobuz to Tidal , I really like Roon both of which are in progress and should happen in the near future and I have not yet played files however I am truly happy with what I heard yesterday both by streaming and playing red book CDs.

I don’t know yet how far I can push the performance with accessories and full break in but so far I believe this is another benchmark product that should create a stir in our community.
I want to update my comments on the Studio Player and it is competition for everything and depending on your systems capability many won't care if there is something else, its that good.

Now you have my attention. Particularly with PS and clock. Interesting to see how it would compare to my Vivaldi Apex plus Aurender w20se and MC 20 master/word clock combo

I don’t have the ps or the clock as they are scheduled for later this year but I love this item and can’t wait to see where it goes

Yes I'm told PS and clock will be at Munich. I'm in no hurry. My guess is availability would be sometime in the fall ?

I would hope that if shown in Munich in May that they could deliver some in that time frame .

The Studio Player is one of those very rare components which is actually pushing this segment to the next level.

We've got a handful of clients already since the premiere during the Take 5 show in Stockholm (October 2024). This is exceptional on this elevated level on our small market (Sweden). Studio Player has replaced the InnuOS Statement Next-Gen + MSB Premier DAC, dCS Vivaldi One (more than double the price) and the Esoteric K1X SE Grandioso, which might give you an idea of how special this all-in-one source is.

The Studio Player is an exciting package, but I have one major concern. It's heavy, and the CD transport's mechanical nature makes it a significant maintenance exposure. Sending half the system to Spain for repair is difficult to contemplate. So separating the CD/SACD transport from the rest of the unit would be attractive to me.

Yes, I also would appreciate if they release a version without CD/SACD transport as a pure Streamer/DAC.
If I recall correctly this was the plan at the launch of the Studio Player in Munich 2024. :cool:

This will come in the form of a pure DAC with streaming option (module) at some point.

Guys I think that you need to cut them some slack here. They are just beginning to deliver the Studio Player and its "options" are on the table for the 2nd Quarter and later this year. Having expectations beyond that is just speculation that may lead to disappointment.

Looks like a real competitor to the Taiko Olympus ;)
It's good to see that manufacturers at this high-end level are back to the combination of transport and DAC.

Hi Matthias -
yes, we announced the plans for the entire Studio line last year at Munich. The Studio DAC is planned to be released likely towards the end of the year.
