DCS Rossini Apex and Clock vs Wadax Studio Player

I have the DCS Rossini Apex player and Clock. How would you compare to the Wadax Studio player. Obviously Wadax has upgrade path w PS and external clock as well. But interested in perspectives of the two in comparison.

Sorry to say the only feedback you're going to get on WBF is from biased owners, and even more from dealers/retailers with profit motive to push their favourite brand.

These are two fundamentally different options with different characteristics and upgrade paths.

You have to listen, compare and ultimately make your own personal choice.

Esoteric are due to launch their Grandioso N1 flagship streamer/DAC sometime in November. It will be the first product outfitted with their second-generation in-house discreet DAC. I placed an order for one (and the optional external power supply, the PS1) after being so impressed with a home demo of an older Grandioso K1X + PS1 combo. That was excellent and I can only imagine how much better the N1 will be with the latest DAC and streaming platform.

If you can wait until November I would try to secure a demo of the N1 as well. I'd be surprised if it didn't offer a worthy alternative to DCS and Wadax.

Have you tried different combinations of MAP (1,2,3) and F(1,2,3,4,5,6) depending on the music genre, artist, specific album, album production, audio file format (CD, WAV, FLAC...)?

Yes. I have played around with the various options there. Lots of variables to consider and tuning per genre/recording is definitely something I am exploring.

If you don't mind I would share with you the settings for part of the album. Large symphony orchestras M2+F1, large Jazz orchestras M2+F2. And according to the albums, as far as I have been able to try it is given in the pictures.

As they if you build it they will come. I know I am the devil. I am a dealer. I am already called much worse but alas I fight the good fight not eh BS of the internet. I don't know where you live but I suggest you bring your items to a Wadax dealer or find a dealer near that can help you. I have taken 4 set ups like yours in trade from people just coming into the shop and listening to the SP. Yes the SP alone since the ad on items won't be available till later this year. I will be having an event here first week of December with PS and Clock but I digress.
Yes I am a dealer and yes I do make money sinc ethat is my business but I believe if you listen the differences will be quite clear and you can make up your mind.
Id be happy to talk to you about it off line and probably could get some convert to tell you what they thought...maybe

Very useful. First time I have seen someone actually post specific combos tied to specific genre/album. Will try some. Thanks
