Shostakovich Sym. 8, Movement 3 (Allegro non troppo)
Haitink with Concertgebouw Orchestra
Vinyl: London Digital LDR 71121 also Decca SXDL 7621

Great performance. I have often used this particular CD as an example of the capabilities of top digital. Or in the same series the end of the 5th symphony.

My WT speaker is a small stand-mount with a 5 1/4" woofer. So, WT speakers is not exactly oomphs and power. I am OK with limited bass output of WT (my ears are sensitive), but a powered sub-woofer with WT can make a good full-range satellite speaker.

Live recording of my WT audio system. WT speakers blow sound to the listener like a live.

Many other audio systems don't blow sounds. They just keep musical sounds behind speakers and what forward and hit me is the veil (may be called glare or brightness). And that makes my eyes and ears are sucked into sound-stage which makes me very uncomfortable.

They don't get too much more complex and dynamic and menacing than this. I shared this same piece a while back but that was quite a few improvements ago.

Not my most dynamic but still a rather enjoyable piece. BTW, I get the biggest kick when some bloke tells me my in-room recordings are lackluster, sterile & lifeless, zero transparency, etc. Such comments lead me to think some of us don't know what we're doing and/or what we're talking about - and I'm starting to think it's me. ;) Give it some juice.
They must have been deaf

I believe Jim’s system sounded even better yesterday once the modified Audio Note Japan preamplifier/phono stage was swapped in. I was also surprised at how well that tiny class D amplifier controlled the bass speakers.
