I've got a refurb Otari MX 5050 in progress. Not a lot of money involved as I tiptoe back into the R2R arena (had a TEAC machine in the 80-90's). With "budget" in mind, any thoughts on interconnects and a power cord to hook things up? Thank you.

I second the Mogami, and if you are willing to make your own interconnects the W2549 wire is my favorite.

I have a pair of Mogami Gold RCA interconnects. They have woolly bass and a slightly compressed soundstage. IME, they work better as a digital coax than an analog interconnect.

If I were looking for inexpensive interconnects, I would go with Blue Jeans LC-2 cables. I don't own these but a friend I trust bought a pair to replace Cardas Iridium and prefers BJC.

I do own a couple of Iconoclast 10AWG cables, which are designed by Iconoclast, but built and shipped by BJC. These cables are amazing, a great bargain in AC cables.
