Orchestral Music System Videos - Symphonic or Tone Poems, etc.

Amazing sound. If not Western Electric, it’s at least WE adjacent:). I get hypnotized by this design.

It is Admire audio, they use Lamar drivers in a WE 666 type horn. And a passive box bass, they don’t disclose the crossover but expect around 100

If you ever choose to buy those, you can send me yours for safekeeping

Fascinating, did I read right that you’re driving them with 2W? TAD’s cross over around 640. Two way design is a big part of the magic.

They belong to the manufacturer, I was at their place. Yes it was with a 2w triode labs amp, Hana ML cartridge.

Thanks Don. I bought the LP with the two cello concertos from Amazon. Different cover from this one with the symphonies. I appreciate it.
Oops, sorry Peter. I wasn't at home to pull the record and look at it myself. I just copied the images that YouTube put on my video (if you click on the description and scroll down - they inserted images of the recording. I incorrectly assumed that was the same as mine.)

Here is the actual cover of mine from Amazon, which I assume is what you also just purchased.

I truly apologize for my mix up.

I hope you enjoy the record as much as I have been :)

Best wishes,
Don

I suspect it’s a digital recording transferred to vinyl, but it sounds good on your video and it gets me started on the music.

Hi Yan your system is indeed excellent and the Beethoven trio is also playing great.

I have noticed on your recordings there is an ambience, in a good way, and the digital LP of Shostakovich 8 is also sounding quite analog. I think your Zyx is doing a lot here. TAD drivers do have lot of insight. You will surely record some of these again on DST, but can you please record a couple on vdh? Especially the Shostakovich 8, and possibly the Beethoven string trio?

These recordings are with VDH XGW Master Signature.
ZYX and VDH are both phenomenal. VDH has higher output and sounds punchier to me. On some orchestral pieces VDH may even be preferable. The difference in perceived neutrality is more pronounced when voices are present. Not sure how these nuances come thru via iPhone 15. I love them both.

I'm not sure if it is a "digital transfer" or not. But either way, it does sound great and I have enjoyed the performance; that's all I care about at the end of the day :)

Best wishes,
Don

I find that analog playback is more important than recording medium. This is Paul McGoven’s Octave Records production recorded on DSD format. His life’s quest is to make digital the best format there is. But he freely admits that this record blows his hi res digital reproduction:)
