I was just surprised he didn't take into account the FMA amps in the expensive amp comparison

Why because they are big /welll made / expensive?

I havent heard the Stelavox as its quit a new product, may be next year in Vienna .

For music FMA is market leader.
Leaving all these Expensive Dacs as mentioned in this thread in the dust .

I was simply intrigued that you have heard lots of ultra equipment, and consistently preferred FMA to them (also an ultra amp and ultra price as well). Having heard it in our home before, I was very impressed, but the cost was just a bridge too far. On my end, only heard the lower powered monos. Never heard the 286c but certainly heard excellent things about it from people who had tested it in HK alongside a CJ GAT 2...I heard about it because I was asking about the upgrade from CJ GAT 1 to GAT 2 and inquired.

I pay for my own expenses when i visit shows.

Have you even ever heard a good FM set up or are you a forum expert?

I have not, nor did I claim to have. I really don’t care about their products one way or another. I have no reason to doubt they are good.

My comment is directed, as I said, at what comes across as an extreme obsession with touting FM as “the greatest” at every possible opportunity, no matter the thread topic.

I think we got the message dozens of similarly worded posts ago.

I would encourage you to do everything within your power to purchase their entire line and live in a never before realized state of HiFi Ecstasy!

I've heard and/or owned several DACs in my system: Jeff Rowland Aeris, Rockna Signature, Mola Mola Tambaqui, PS Audio Directstream, Bricasti M1 se, DCS Bartok APEX, DCS Rossini APEX. I currently use a Chord Dave and have been looking to replace it. I'm currently trying a DCS Vivaldi APEX DAC. This is the first DAC that I've heard in my system that clearly does everything across the board better than the Chord Dave. I'm going to try to get a home audition of an MSB reference DAC or the Playback Design MPD-8 before making a decision on the Vivaldi.
