I started with ADS bookself driven by Fisher integrated, Garrad turntable at 1978 (45 years ago).

My best 5 speakers are

1. Scaena 3.2 (2022 to present) Least distortion using line arrays of multiple drivers with wide and deep soundstage.

2. Lansche 4.1 (2006-2021) but in the attic now
Plasma tweeter give nice vocal sound with also nice bass up to 20 hz due to active driven two 10 inch woofers.

3. Apogee Duetta Sig( 1989-1999)
I shall not had let it go. Just one of the most musical sound driven by Krell KSA 150.

4. Altec A7 (2021- present)
Nice sound but after I got Scaena, I use only basshorns for 180 hz and down.

5. B&W Notilus 801 (2000-2002) driven by Jadis 500 gave the most powerful bass in my listening room.

But Jadis 500 gave too much heat during summer time, I let them go together.

6. Avalon Ascent II also sound musical.

The worst one in my room was Wilson Watt Puppy 4 which sound so bright that I let it go only after 6 months on 2000.

If I had DSP, I could have tamed the sound.

In no particular order:

Spica TC-50 with/without Kinergetics subs
Audio Physic Step v.1
Spendor S100 mk.2
NEAT Petite/Gravitas
NEAT Ultimatum Nine

Honorable mention to a pair of Linn Saras that would vex or enchant depending on mood. Their mood. Looking back, I have a penchant for well-executed isobaric woofers and minimalist first order x-overs.

That would be all my speakers, since I have had only three over 33 years of audiophilia.

I have only had 3 since I got back into audio. My current PAP Trio 15 coax are the best I have had.

I do like Thomas Scaena. Way out of my league. Very clean snd flowing. Natural and real. I heard the distortion in mine when I came back from his place. Thomas is altering them a bit using the Altec horn bass cabinet for 180 hertz and down. That adds a lot of space and depth in the upper bass that may not be there normally. They project a fairly large image for being so thin.

I had Sonus Faber Luito floorstanding diven by CJ premier 140. Lots of gusto.

Still have my PAP Trio 10 with Voxativ. Also have the horn for the PAP trio 15. I like the 10" coax for the Trio 15 best.

Polk Audio Monitor 10B - first speakers that made me sit down in front and listen for hours
Spica TC50 - superb imaging and a mid to die for
Living Voice Avatar 2 - fun speakers that made me want to get up and dance or sing along with the music
Wilson Sophia 3 - hard hitting Wilson bass with some treble forgiveness that makes all music sound good
TAD Evolution 1 TX - highly resolving but refined, easy to place even in small rooms

Apogee was a highly underrated speaker. I opted for the Martin logan CLS. I would have been happy with the Duetta driven by the Meitner monoblocks. The road not taken.

What are your three speakers for 33 years.

I have around 9 speakers during 45 years.

I started out with Stax headphones. Then:

1. Ensemble Reference (1991 - 2016; refoaming and tweeter exchange 2005)
2. Reference 3A MM De Capo BE (2016 - 2018)
3. Reference 3A Reflector (2018 - present and beyond)

All are monitors. Subwoofers combined with the monitors:

1. REL Storm III (2000 - 2018)
2. JL Audio F112v2 (2018 - present and beyond)

The Reference 3A Reflector are the best monitors that I have heard, maximizing the potential strengths of this speaker type while minimizing its weaknesses.

I still have Stax 009s headphone, Raal Sr1a, Senhieser HD 800s.

But after using Scaena and Altec combo, I do not use headphone unless I had to.

I enjoy dynamics of my 2 way stereo system.

I have had some speakers over the years that on reflection I probably never really did complete justice to before graduating from them including IMF RSPM Mk IV and I very much enjoyed the Proac Response 2s… plus I’ve been lucky to have babysat longer term some awesome speakers over the years from good mates memorably including Tune Animas and Devore 0/96…

but the best experiences from speakers that I have owned has come from;

Magnepan 3.7
Magnepan 20.7
Harbeth 40.2
Pureaudioproject Trio 15 horn
Pureaudioproject Quintet 15 horn

so much so that I still have 4 of these here   hmmm perhaps it’s time to let some of these be free lol!!!
