Rock and Drum videos thread

Really liked the last two videos. Startlingly, clean and dynamic over the videos. Who said horns can’t do rock?
With good solid state on the bass cabinets, they certainly can ! ;)

Most of the videos here are horns. Very few cones people are going to post their videos here. I haven’t heard any I liked on rock, the basic Vandersteen model is actually good enough in cones. Apogees were the next best to good horns for rock

Crank it.

Re your signature, Mac and headphones will not reveal how videos sound. Try a DAP or phone with headphone jack.
That almost reads like 2 or 3 half-baked thoughts strung together from somebody struggling with their own listening skills. Please elaborate.

I never liked this song before, only liked the lead at the end, but now Leif's system video is making me enjoy the whole song. It is now exciting, no more boring

All this talk on the horns thread. I had to cool me down to take another round but now I am back in the ring for another swing. Though my mind is still shaking and the SS cone guys are quaking. They have big amps but they need to keep their motor clean, giant big bass horns are the best damn thing you have ever seen

Lots of people talking, few of them know
You hurt and abuse, telling all of your lies
Run around your components how they hypnotize
Every day you work so hard
Audio gets your hard-earned pay
Don't know where you're goin'
Only know just where you've been
For so long, it's not true

Let posters say what they will
Tongue wag so much
When you see the bill

Listening to this sounds like Al M's ode to videos, both due to the lyrics and the wails.

I can't quit you
So I think I am going to put you down for a while
You messed up my happy home
Made me mistreat my only speaker
My hopes were built so high
Then video compares let me down so low
Now I don't know which way to go

Hehe.

Fun to know that I'm living rent free in your head.

Hey guys - any chances of posting Led Zep "Immigrant Song" through that system - thanks...

Yes will ask but look up immigrant song live 1972 on YT. It makes the studio version sound boring, and can be only played on “how the west was won”, which Leif does not have. The scream and the lead at the end are wild, crazy energy throughout

The Song Remains The Same live album has some cataclysmic moments on songs like No Quarter.

No Quarter is a great 25 min live at earl's court 1975. Some meandering keyboard in the middle but the come back to the main theme and the last part is excellent. The No Quarter from the No Quarter album is very different, unledded but excellent as well. That unplugged, the How the west was won, and the double DVD, which has part of the TSRTS movie, is their best of live. The 1977 is unfortunately available only on YT.

Unfortunately recording is quite compressed for LZ 3

Muddy waters

These last videos sound very good. The sound is very open, airy, and does have good bass. Is the overall tonal balance faithfull to the recording? Hard to tell with a video, but perhaps this is not so important.

I agree, the videos sound good. Even with some issues present and even if they are not quite true to the original system in person (hope not, in fact), they do give an idea of a quality system.
