Riviera levante

Agree - Class A is more open , airy and emotionally engaging than A/B. For complex and fast paced genres you will have more control obviously but probably lose the touch. Driving 93db Alsyvox.

As an aside - I added an icon5 passive to the levante and it’s another experience - phenomenal increase in transparency and separation. Insane value upgrade.
I’m not surprised by that given the basic pot supplied by Riviera but how do you make that work without a preamp bypass? I guess you turn the pot to full output to minimise attenuation losses.

I’m considering the Levante, but it would be running in AB, I assume, with my hard to drive Harbeths. Anyone have similar use experience? I wonder how the sonic qualities of the Levante hold up in AB vs class A.

Levante will have no issues driving any Harbeth’s even in Class A mode if you’re not pushing the volume to very high levels in a large space.

I have a Lavante driving Divin Comtesse speakers which are 89db and the amp in Class A does a terrific job and sounds really good. I am sure that on some music it might run out of gas but under "normal conditions" it works perfectly
