Post Your Jazz Videos

Thank you for your post! I struggle at times with the written word... words can mean many things when you can't hear the inflection of a person's voice. At first glance I thought you might have been being sarcastic because my opening post was a Japanese performance and was maybe implying I'm posting too much of that, lol. Now after reading your post, I certainly understand that you were simply inquiring "if" it was - which is my fault because I forgot to post a picture of the LP Cover - sorry about that.

It's funny when you mention that I could have saved my breath - as I am struggling with extreme shortness of breath. My RBC count, among other things, is very low. My bone marrow is not creating enough red blood cells and therefore my tissues, muscles, brain, etc is not getting enough oxygen. My doctor is putting me through a bunch of tests and is on top of it. I'm worried because my father had bone marrow cancer, but I don't want to get ahead of things and have to let the doctor figure it all out. But in any case, my brain is foggy and firing on all cylinders, so I sincerely apologize.

I will see if I can edit the above post to include a picture of the LP cover ;) That will help with others that may be interested in the source of the music.

Best wishes,
Don
Sorry to hear about your health issues - i hope for the best

Hello Everyone :)

It seems as though we have some great threads where members are posting videos of their systems playing female/male vocals, piano music, violin music, etc...

I thought it might be nice to have a thread where members could post videos of their audio systems playing jazz or even some blues ;).
I love these types of threads, not only because it can be a great way to be introduced to some new recordings, but also, it's always fun to try and get a glimpse of what other member's system may sound like

I'll start with a vinyl recording of The Three Blind Mice jazz trio.

As always, listening on a decent set of headphones may sound much better vs listening thru cellphone/laptop speakers.
This was recorded on my iPhone, without any external mic's, handheld horizontally. As such, please forgive the motion and sound of my breathing.

Not looking for professional type videos. I'm just hoping we all can have a little fun together.

Best wishes to you all,
Don

Sounds good!

Wishing you all the best with regaining your health, Don.

Thank you Al for your well wishes!

This is exactly one of the things that I love about WBF.
I feel we are like a family of sorts.

Yes, sometimes it's the love of music or lust of the greatest gear that money can buy that brings us all together here.
We all may have similar likes or dislikes; sometimes we can all join in the celebration of a member's well loved addition to their audio system and at the same time debates can become passionate and heated.
Sounds alot like families to me - especially around the holidays, lol.
BUT, at the end of the day.... deep down, I feel that there is a lot of love for each other here.

A big thank to all of our forum members, for that!

Best wishes,
Don

How about some bluesy piano playing - After all... it is said that the blues are the roots/foundation of jazz ;)

I've been having fun playing through my collection of records by The Three Blind Mice and this selection is from the LP "MISTY" and the chart is called "Blues". It has a really great drive all the way thru and is a fun listen. I would have loved to be there in person!

As always, these videos always seem to sound better when listening thru a decent set of headphones vs cellphone/laptop speakers.

I love EL84 amps!
Who makes them?

Best wishes,
Don
Hi Don

I also love the el84.
The small amp is a Scandinavian AGA, somewhat similar to the Mullard 3-3. I also have a Dynaco ST35 with an el84, which is very good. The AGA is better, but it only has 3W 4/8 ohms.
It looks like a small toy, but sounds great.

best regards

Darek

Have you retro applied David Gillespie’s EFB and mods to your ST35 ? A nice evolution in the fidelity is imbued in the Dynaco imho .

Likewise Don , I have owned several commercial amplifier(s) and built a few over the years sportI g the EL84, the EL84 is a very nice choice of OPT particularly with midrange centric genre material.

Of the commercial models I have particularly fond memories of the Shindo Montille .

You could make videos comparing these different amplifiers - I am not sure the differences would be so obvious (through a video).

No, it's the original st35, it's like new, the tubes are with the Dynaco logo, I think it's el84 RCA and Mullard 12dw7

I plan to record one song on different amplifiers someday, just for fun, maybe the differences will be audible on video
