Hello Everyone

It seems as though we have some great threads where members are posting videos of their systems playing female/male vocals, piano music, violin music, etc...

I thought it might be nice to have a thread where members could post videos of their audio systems playing jazz or even some blues .
I love these types of threads, not only because it can be a great way to be introduced to some new recordings, but also, it's always fun to try and get a glimpse of what other member's system may sound like

I'll start with a vinyl recording of The Three Blind Mice jazz trio.



As always, listening on a decent set of headphones may sound much better vs listening thru cellphone/laptop speakers.
This was recorded on my iPhone, without any external mic's, handheld horizontally. As such, please forgive the motion and sound of my breathing.

Not looking for professional type videos. I'm just hoping we all can have a little fun together.

Even though this recording is so vastly different than how modern day recordings are made; if you allow yourself to listen with an open mind and without preconceived notions, one can definitely imagine the high energy - great times that the people who were present in that moment probably had!

More Japanese jazz?

Sure, why not???

I feel "music" is a universal language. I know this first hand. I am a cellist living in the USA. My teacher (from Russia) studied directly under Valentin Berlinsky, a cellist who is one of the founding members of the world famous Borodin String Quartet. As such, my teacher is an outstanding cellist and pianist as well.

She came to live in the USA, but because she is Russian, her English is very broken. I find it almost impossible to understand her when she speaks. However, when we play our cellos together or when she accompanies me on her Steinway Grand piano, the barrier is lifted as the musical language is truly universal. We communicate in the most beautiful way.... the emotions are sooo strong. When my wife comes to listen to us, she is filled with joy, or tears comes to her eyes, etc depending on the piece and what the particular composer had written and intended to convery. But, it is so real, so strong and it doesn't matter that she is Russian and I am American.

So, where I am coming from is that I have a deep love of music, no matter the country of origin the composer happened to have came from or where the musicians performing it are from.

Also, I find it very interesting to hear the various interpretations that musicians from other countries may have of well known standards/classics. I simply shared something that I thought our forum members may enjoy hearing. Nothing more or less.... just trying to have fun

Turntable: Linn LP12/Naim Aro Tone Arm/Benz Micro Ruby Zebrawood S-Class moving coil cartridge.
Wavestream Kinectics Deluxe Reference Level 5.1 with outboard power supply, all vacuum tubed phono stage.
First Sound Presence Audio dual mono, all vacuum tubed linestage.
Single Ended 845 triode vacuum tubed power amplifier
Dunlavy SCIV Signature speakers
Cables by Acoustic Zen Absolute Coppers
Recorded with my iPhone, handheld horizontally, without the use of any external mic's.Amateur recording - just for fun.

Thank you for your post! I struggle at times with the written word... words can mean many things when you can't hear the inflection of a person's voice. At first glance I thought you might have been being sarcastic because my opening post was a Japanese performance and was maybe implying I'm posting too much of that, lol. Now after reading your post, I certainly understand that you were simply inquiring "if" it was - which is my fault because I forgot to post a picture of the LP Cover - sorry about that.

It's funny when you mention that I could have saved my breath - as I am struggling with extreme shortness of breath. My RBC count, among other things, is very low. My bone marrow is not creating enough red blood cells and therefore my tissues, muscles, brain, etc is not getting enough oxygen. My doctor is putting me through a bunch of tests and is on top of it. I'm worried because my father had bone marrow cancer, but I don't want to get ahead of things and have to let the doctor figure it all out. But in any case, my brain is foggy and IS NOT firing on all cylinders, so I sincerely apologize.

I will see if I can edit the above post to include a picture of the LP cover That will help with others that may be interested in the source of the music.
