Even though you quoted Peter, I am assuming you meant this for me because of the AS2000 vs. Horning reference.
Your opinion of the sound of my videos is inconsequential...it is only your opinion, which has no weight with me or many others. As you don't have a system, we can't critique yours (easy way for you to dodge criticism while attempting keep some kind of 'expert' status. You are definitely no expert to me) but we can critique videos you post that often sound horrible (like this latest Diana Krall fiasco). You post a lot of videos that sound very poor and it has to be considered that you only post them because you identify with them as being good in some way. It strongly calls into question your judgement of sound quality.
My point is not that state of the art systems can't play orchestra...any system can play the music...its that they can't play it properly, no system can. This is in part limited by the recordings, which use quite a bit of compression to manage to get a full orchestra within the dynamic range of the recording media and it is just as well because basically no system could handle the true dynamic range of an orchestra anyway. Rather than name call and argue, show me some data and references that prove me wrong. If you can, I will listen. Otherwise, it is just another lame attempt by you to smear me.
Finally, the AS2000 and Horning. I said they were similar in that they both have the same basic very high mass principle with thread drive and no suspension. I never said much beyond that. You are the one who tried to spin it into something more than that, again to have a 'gotcha' to try to make me look bad. You can't tell me if they sound very different as you (and probably nobody in the world) haven't heard them both or together in the same sitting.
This is the last time I break my own policy of not responding to you anymore but I am tired of the smears. Try and post some good sounding videos and maybe people won't have to question your sanity...
