Most attractive male hobbies

Apparently it is a thing! My daughter and her husband have gone on axe throwing dates, lol!

I went to a Game of Thrones party three weeks ago with my wife, and we both learned to throw axes at a target in a cage for safety. It was fun and surprisingly easy.

I'm surprised glassblowing and model trains aren't on the list.
I’ve watched glass blowers at the Appalachian Center for Crafts. It’s really cool (actually really hot). I think women would like this hobby as much as blacksmithing (which they also teach there).

But toy trains, not so much. My experience in the train hobby is that women like that after they are grandmothers because it is of interest to grandchildren. My wife was really irked about the space that trains take up … until the grandson came along, and now she is prone to make suggestions and give advice about trains. It’s always about facilitating the child’s play. I don’t mind, but I’m not always as responsive as might be liked.

Hope it wasn’t a Game of Thrones red wedding reunion night. That’s the more serious axe throwing crowd Peter.

I personally have never met anyone that was into axe throwing as a hobby...just saying.
At one time I was active in the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. There were many people of both sexes and virtually all ages who participated in ax throwing competition. My interest was in building firearms using technology available in the pre 1850 period. Ax throwing is more physical and requires virtually no tools … and generally, it’s not regulated.

Also, absence of audio is not evidence of it not being attractive. Just sayin'
Tell the women how much your system is worth and suddenly you become attractive, the smell of money is the best pheromone ! ;) Just don't tell them you spent all your money on the system.:p

You sir. are ready and prepared to be sent back in time if necessary or for the Zombie apocalypse !

makes me wonder; why a wife at all?
There was a great cartoon on the wall of the Handy Andy Retal shop. A soon to be husband and wife walking to the church and a harlot saying, why buy when you can rent?

I’ve decided that there are at least five types of audio hobbiests. Presented without prejudice …

1. Those who are obsessed with latest and greatest system building. A number of them are now sporting $1M systems to the envy of many others.

2. Those who love vintage gear, including vinyl. They’re convinced that modern formats are just not very good. And they’re often suspicious of modern electronics. Some are incredibly anal retentive apologists for all things related to vinyl, or other vintage technology. They often love new incarnations of older ideas.

3. Those who love musical performance and couldn’t care less about how it got into their space so long as it was good.

4. Those for whom audio is just another black hobby hole into which money can be thrown.

5. And those who combine one or more of the above.

As a number 5, I would classify myself as a 3-4-2-1.

I left out one more category. And that is those whose hobby is promoting their truth via forums on the internet. Thousands of posts. Many arguments. Never any wavering from their truth.

I amended my post to make clear that I meant only knowing that the guy rides a motorcycle.
Speaking for myself and dozens of riding friends, yes, women of all ages find that guys who ride Italian sport bikes are most attractive!

I've found that the attractiveness of my hobbies to my partner has varied according to life stage.
My girlfriend found my skiing attractive; when she became my wife, she found it expensive.
My young wife found my motorcycling appealing; when she became a mother, she found it impractical and risky.
My, uh, "mature" wife found my woodworking a useful skill; today my wife just wants my damn stuff out of the garage.

Truth spoken, so.....truthfully!

Lots of “upkeep” if you are thinking of settling down with an “umbrella girl.” Paris Hilton bought a low level motogp class team years ago. Maverick Vinalez was one of the very young riders. How’s Randy dePuniet doing these days? Of course if you’re not settling down, you might be standing tall in the saddle.

I suppose Casey Stoner is an exception, although she was not an umbrella girl.

Someone posted (@audiobomber) a video of the audiophile song in the humor thread the other day. It was very funny (because it rang very true). After that video, the next one up was a video of the most attractive and least attractive of male hobbies (according to a survey of women).

Number 4 on the least attractive list was “arguing on the internet.”

I’m thinking of the recent thread in which the integrity of this forum was questioned by one of the dealer/distributor/importer members who complained about cheerleading for some of the latest hot items by some other “regulars.”

You’ve been warned.

My hobbies are amateur astronomy and music. Here's some of my telescopes..
I've posted plenty of pictures of my hifi stuff already.

Pampering your date is not on the list simply because it is the obvious number one choice
