Since I have been falsely accused of making *Bogus* claims, I've decided to initiate an effort to start some threads on subjects which involve more than just subjective listening preferences and evaluations based solely on one's ears. In other words I will endeavor to bring a little objective science into the mix for those interested.
Many know Sean Olive, Director of Acoustic Research for Harman International who directs the corporate research and development group and oversees the subjective evaluation of new audio products through, amongst other things, blind listening tests. Prior to 1993, he was a research scientist at the National Research Council of Canada.
Dr. Olive presented at the recent 127th AES convention in NYC the results of some controlled listening tests and objective measurements on different room correction products. His blog on the subject is:
