I just placed my order for the Baltic 3 with copper chassis and volume control. Turns out, all Baltics (maybe all Lampi’s) with the VC option now come with the larger Pacific display and remove the ring light as of June 1st.

oh, that's a nice change and upgrade! I never really liked that old display, and while the Pacific display is really nice the ring button feels very classic LampizatOr, this marks for quite a change in design trickling downwards in the hierarchy. Personally I'm using an integrated amp and don't feel the need for a volume control, but I'm happy for those who do, as this makes the Baltic 3 an even more attractive choice. please remember to post pics when you get it!

and congratulations to your purchase, I think you will like it.... ;)

Mark, when using the Tungsram tubes with the Baltic 3, do you have to use the Baltic on the high-gain mode or can you use on low-gain?
Hi, my Baltic has the inbuilt volume control so I don’t have that switch. I don’t imagine there will be much difference besides reducing losses implicit in resistor attenuation however perhaps @VoicesInMyHead can advise as he also uses e80cc?

Just wanted to mention for those considering purchasing one. I’ll post pics once I receive it, hopefully in mid-July.
Oh, yes. They have mentioned that in Munich. It looks much better with the new display. Have you seen how it looks, even in the pictures?

hm, I wonder if the display is just put on the current frontpanel, or is the frontpanel/case different as well? I have owned 5 Lampi's over the years and they've all more or less looked the same, I wouldn't complain about a more Pacific looking case, but in the smaller form factor of the B3 then...

I was sent this pic as an example. Nothing official, but it shows that apparently even the Amber 4 gets the new display.

Does anyone have experience with Amber 4? Especially when compare with Baltic 3?

I am very interested in getting a Baltic 3, but having a limited shelf space height of 20cm to maybe 22cm got me worried that Baltic 3 might be challenged to fit, and since Amber 4 is fairly new, along with scarce response from distributor, I hope there are more inputs available here to help finalize the decision.

I gave these charmingly labelled fellas a whirl in my Baltic and they were pleasant enough but fell short of the g73r and a long way behind the e80cc. Lower transparency, smaller dimensionally and less emotional intensity.

I'm sorry to say but you will not be able to fit a Baltic 3 in 22cm shelf space. I have 28cm and I think that's tight, you would want to leave some room for ventilation and also being able to change tubes while not be limited to the smallest tubes/rectifier you can find.

I had an Amber 3 before my Baltic 3 and thought it was a lot of fun, it felt like it was almost too good for an entry level DAC. I also liked the simplicity of it with no exposed tubes and was in general very happy with it. but with that said, the B3 was a big step up, also I didn't think tube rolling was really my thing, but it's indeed a lot of fun with this DAC and it will take you further...

Anyway, if you can't re-arrange your shelf or find another solution then I'd say Amber 4 is the way to go.

Amber 4 does look like a safe choice, and I am very curious to know how it compare to either Baltic 3 or perhaps Amber 3?

Meanwhile, I think I might have an alternative location to accommodate a Baltic 3, so hopefully Baltic 3 will be a good step up from an Amber 4.

Great, go with the B3 instead of A4

Hi there, B3 should look similar to this. It matches sut or other Lampizator phono boxes

Related to tubes rolling, in my personal opinion 6f8g RCAs with 5u4g eml are the best option. I have been using b3 with that config since the beginning. Bought it right after it was released.
Tested 6f8g KR, Sylvania, Raytheon, 6sn7 TungSol, 6sn7 Sophia Electric vs original 6sn7 from China installed with b3

Not sure, but it looks like it will. I think there will be updated pictures soon at lampizator site.

? I don't know where you got this info but B3 does not look like this and never did look like this. Personally had several of them under my roof so I'm very familiar with them...

I may ask same question here? How do you know ;) best.
Sure. Because it was sent to me by the US distributor, and the additional area around the original pic indicate that it was taken and sent from the man himself, Lukasz. I chose to crop that out since it wasn’t a publicly released photo.
