Rick Rubin has recently purchased the Zellaton speakers and the FM Acoustics amp from the Audio Arts NYC&Gideon Schwartz. I think it was on the AudioArts website awhile ago. Rubin IMHO has produced some most realistic sounding albums ever, especially on his American label.
Looking at the Snoop Dogs "aspirational" system (power ratings, horns, 18 inch woofers), I no longer have any doubts that those most "accomplished" rappers&hip hop, etc. performers have most likely gone deaf....

Also, couple years back I saw a funny video when head of MBL USA , Brian was demoing his 101omnis to some Florida rapper with rapper's own tunes, and the rapper was trying to shake his head in tune with the MBLs bass, but there was very little of it, as compared to the usual low freq abomination that goes along with that genre. Rapper said he would consider the MBLs, but one could see disappointment on his face
