I just read that HBO has announced that the upcoming seasons of Boardwalk Empire (5) and The Newsroom (3) will the the last. I will surely miss them both. At least both shows will be able to tie up all of the story lines and not leave us hanging like what happened with Rome and Borgia's.

I read that as well

I must admit that after season 5 of Boardwalk Empire ended and with Nucky wanting out I could see the handwriting on the wall

I agree about Roma and The Borgias. Two of my favorite HBO series and how about Deadwood, my all time favorite that just ended

I enjoyed Deadwood a lot too. My brother and I have counted 7 Deadwood characters that have had roles (some recurring) on Sons of Anarchy. MY favorite all time series is still The Wire. Many of the best characters on TV.

I've watched 1 season of Deadwood so far and enjoyed it. Just grabbed The Wire. I'm behind a season or two on a few other shows that I like.

So much great TV. Love HBO.

What about startz ending magic city
That show rocked

+1 on the The Wire! Best TV show, period.

I'm also not surprised by the BE announcement, though I am a bit surprised that Newsroom is ending so soon. BE seemed to drive down an dead -end without a way to back out of it. Still like the show, but with Nucky's heart not being into the life anymore, it seems that the heart of the show is somewhat detached from the most interesting stories.
