Great for you and happy for that, personally with a brand new unit i would like to have the latest upgrades, specially if the air function have more to go on ?
Ethernet is also something i look forward to and was high up as a upgrade wish earlier,so lets see
?? dont know where i have said that ,butt acc to Devialet they sound better the press in Munchen have been told acc to some forums,i haven't heard them so i don't know !
Would also like to know how it would be to use a second Devialet as my plan are ,if the second one has a different hardware ?
Do remember that the new 240 is 1000 Euro more expensive than D-Premier was, so expect to pay at least this difference when you do the upgrade. I think it is reasonable. I think the first level of upgrade (getting the new backplate with USB and Ethernet connection plus a new DSP) should cost something like this and should be retrofittable with some skills at home. The full upgrade will cost a lot more for sure as the unit needs to be sent back to the factory.
Regarding the monoblock configs I think Devialet will keep few D-Premier on stock for this purpose for the existing single stereo D-Premier users. I see no reason why the D-Premier and 240 would not be combined for a dual or quad monblock config, they can run the same firmware v6, you may have to use a 240 as a master unit and then you can use the D-Premier as slave. I have no information, I am guessing only.
