Gian's system - Vyger-Opus vs Techdas AF3, SAT+Lyra Lambda

Dear friends
After some days of test and listening, until today I don’t know what I prefer
Listening the system is different than from videos even if one idea you can have
Vyger and AF3P with Sat are both amazing and among the top in their price target, also more and these 3 cartridges are fantastic
Koetsu is very natural on chamber music, small jazz group and voices,Opus has the best scene and depth and the best area from mid to bass and Lambda has an incredible mid high, more natural than previous Atlas sl and with the best mid high I listen until now and the sound come easily out of the speaker like an
Horn speaker more than
Koetsu and Opus

I would like a cart natural like Coralstone diamond with scene and depth and midbass like Opus and with Midhigh of Lambda

Never listen at home VDH,I had the top Colibrì some years ago but didn’t liked and
I sold,Etsuro,Red Sparrow and
straingauge

Kind regards to
Everybody

Gian - thanks for sharing your videos. One thing is clear - you have a lovely system. Enjoy.

So, koetsu coralstone vs Lyra lambda vs airtight Opus on SAT on Techdas.

Rank the links on pagannini

1.

2.

3.

On the iPhone I cannot easily distinguish 2 versus 3, but I know I do not like 1.

1 on Paganini is the Koetsu Coralstone Diamond? (I had a feeling I would not like diamond.)

Yes if you read on you you will see that 3 is Opus for the pagannini. But the reason why you think you might not like the diamond, is that the same reason you do not like the video?

2 and 3 sounded fine to me (if I had more patience at the moment I'm sure I could figure out which one of those two I prefer), but 1 gave me a very rapid ear bleed.

When you ask about the reason I do not like the video, I am afraid I am not understanding you. (You know I don't like the whole comparing components and evaluating systems over video concept because of all the random ADC and DAC.)

I am accepting each of those three videos as is, and just comparing them. I'm just not following you when you ask me about not liking the video.

For people who likes different flavors with means to have three carts in possession, Gian's pick of these three brands will make you an "open minded" music lover than an hard core idealist audiophile. However what I just said imply to the Atlas SL instead of Atlas Lambda SL. So the three Musketeer would be CoralStone Diamond, Atlas SL and Opus1. The Lambda narrows the sonic difference between the Opus1 and SL. So to maximize the difference better put the normal SL in the three and you will have three different flavors.

What surprises me is the diamond coral stone. I had a coral stone but not the diamond one. I told Gian, put the coralstone on SAT and you will hear its best like you have not heard it before. I think the result hit Gian hard. Surprise me too because my normal coral stone didn't sound that good on the same SAT.

@marmota described the diamond as

"Incredible, it manages to convey the body of the instruments and the dynamic range, while not being sharp when reproducing the highest notes of the violins. Would listen for hours."

That is what I heard. I am sure Gian has the same impression and much more in real. I cannot get the body of violin like that out of my trusted first sword. It sounds like real violin or not you expert and idealist can debate forever. To say it sounds "Dead" can only come from our one and only Bonzo. Sure I also have my reservations on the diamond. I wrote to Gian and Ked the diamond highlighted main instruments being played. In Jazz Pawn the audience became more separated from sound scene instead of hearing the live event in a more whole holistic as should. And the sound from diamond is quite "pretty" or "color" by audiophile vocab. It just tells its own story of a musical recording. Very very attractive indeed.

Thank you Gian for going through so much to have us get a glimpse of these carts. By now you should be very proficient in setting up cart on SAT :D. We cannot get a chance to hear many equipments mentioned on forum. I am delighted to hear vyger vs Techdas. Techdas to me sounds like Techdas regardless of model except for the af0 which I never heard. In the next 6 months I will ask you what is your first sword. MikeL now has 3 Esturo easy to understand what his first sword. Aren't we all have our own way.

My preference was Paganini 3,1,2 For Vocals it was 2,3,1

Referencing back to Ked's post I now see for Paganini it was Opus>Koetsu> Lambda and Vocals it was Lamda>Koetsu>Opus

Interesting test.

Gian a baby tip for you. Try tracking the Diamond at 1.7 or 1.8 <wink> :)

Howie. Your tt is so color. You cant say I am wrong can you? ;)

And 1.9 instead of 2 that was recommended on Opus1.

Tang, not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean I am not necessarily a purveyor of neutral carts, you are probably right!
I thought you have a Ferrari red tt. Or am I mistaken your system for someone else's. It was a joke.

I know that you think diamond could make your ear bleed. My question was did the koetsu pagannini video feel ear bleeding? I didn't like the video but it is was nowhere near ear bleed. I did not like it because of less life. Hence my question

Yes, video 1 felt ear-bleeding to me. Like the kid screaming at the table next to Tinka and me at dinner tonight.

He was referring to the red artisan fidelity. I sent him the pic I liked that

I called Gianluigi two days ago to congratulate him on the sound he has achieved.
I prefer Lambda and Opus sound from Koetsu but I was very impressed with Koetsu performance with the SAT.
i believe Gianluigi has put together a system that can show the sound differences of every component, but the most important fact is that Gianluigi is very happy with his system.
I wish one day to reach Gianluigi satisfaction with his system.

i have listened all the videos but none of them had caused me any annoyance or bleeding feeling

P.S. My impression (through his posts) for this gentleman proved 100 % accurate. Besides his huge Hi-Fi experience Gian is a person of unique kindness and quality.

3 for Paganini for me. 2 doesn't sound level matched, so it's harder consider. One was not bad but not my preferred sound.
