Sacha Distel---...From France, Paris. :b ...The city of lights, the poets, the artists, painters, sculptors, philosopher's stones, actors, directors, musicians, singers (Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, ...), ....
More my mom's cup of tea---Sacha Distel, good one; it's been a while I've heard his name.![]()
Jesus! Nana Mouskouri! The monobrow! Don't forget Demos Rousos. You have excellent tast in movies. I need to get back into Jean Luc Goddard, Truffout, etc.---My Mum loves Charles Aznavour, Serge Reggiani, Nana Mouskouri, Serge Gainsbourg, Manitas de Plata, Georges Moustaki, Serge Mondor (that's her brother), ...
* She had a turntable and was playing only albums back in 1961 and up.
{But they had a turntable too at her mother's place, back in the fifties; her own Mom was a singer and a pianist.}
Now she's got a Bose r.a.d.i.o./CD player and she's very happy with it. :b
Few years later I bought my own first turntable, and my own albums, and for many years.
Many French and Canadian French artists (Harmonium, Robert Charlebois, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Raoul Duguay, Offenbach, Claude Dubois, and a zillion more). But I was also into Classical, and Bach was (and still is) one of my favorite composers.
...And Rock music, and Blues.
In the early seventies I was exploring Jazz, at school, from live bands.
And very early on I was also into movies; black and white, Sergio Leone's westerns, 'The Guns of Navarone' with Anthony Quinn, Robert Blake ('In Cold Blood'), Marlon Brando, Federico Fellini, Rod Steiger, 'Deliverance' with Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight, ....
I was also a film projectionist in the early seventies. And I took Cinema History at high school.
I did some acting too (Theater). ...And I even made a film! ...Back in 1971 I believe (8 or 16 mm).
---Thank you Phil for visiting this thread and for posting a comment.
* I feel almost abnormal sometimes because I'm a film luver and I post what I watched.
...Seems that I am more the exception than the rule.
** I told a friend not long ago that collecting films over all these years and in the latest mediums is sort of money wasting (I spent/spend a lot), but if any day I feel to rewatch one I like, it's there, and in its best light (hi res audio and hi def video).
But it doesn't rule my life, see!
We all have our personal life's priorities; and loving each other should be our common one first. :b
---That is very cool Phil; memory lane, betamax, dolby surround decoder, four speakers, your first home theater, your mom wowed, ...
And you watched 'The Dictator'. ...Not yet for me, but eventually. :b

I don't post any movie watching for the last few days because I'm on heavy drugs, for my teeth, and for some more ...
I try every night to watch a flick but I passed out on my couch; just too tired, stoned, and totally drained.
Physically I am low, my moral is not bad though; got some work ahead of me to get in better shape.
...Hope I can see my dentist Monday; but I doubt it. It's going to be real tough ....
Emergency, possible 911 ....
