* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

Agree, its the only one I have.

my recollection is it was too serious for me...you're talking to someone who's most intellectually challenging movie in his collection is Lord of the Rings...so bear that in mind. I've got 200+ movies...99% action flicks. ;)

Should have had a complete "Lynching" party and watched Mulholland Drive.

Yes, I could have as I do have 'Mulholland Drive' and also 'Inland Empire' from David Lynch,
but only on DVDs and not on Blu-rays, just yet.

For once:
I wanted to stick with Blu-rays, and the first flick I watched was 'The Pianist' by Roman Polanski.
It hurt so deep emotionally and humanly, that I needed to be distracted on another totally different level (Lynch).

P.S. [I also own the Limited Soundtrack DVD 3-Disc set Edition of 'The Pianist'.
Because I love the music (piano) from that film, plus there is also a DVD dedicated to Special Features, and there are audio commentary's soundtracks on the main film feature DVD.
* The Blu-ray version is nude! Nothing else, just the flick.
But a better picture and sound quality of course. ...Not night & day though.
I am a completist on things and people I love.]

But 'The Pianist' was the main reason of all this...
If you don't feel your heart-wrenching while watching this film, you are not human.
It is truly sad, painful, and tough to digest about life's realities and true facts.
I was again totally devastated in my heart and soul.
...And it is still present to this day! Just unbelievable!

P.P.S. The postcript should have been here; I just did not bother with my error. :b

I also have those! The EE's though, probably too much verbiage I suspect ;) :D

Hi Ron,

I believe I have all the LOTR Theatrical & EE versions on both DVDs and Blu-rays.
And the total number of all my LOTR Trilogy discs would amount to over 50 or just about!
And I ain't kidding.

Amazingly again, last night I watched three Blu-ray movies! I'm on a Cinema roll ....

OK, the big question. How many discs do you have?

You're a funny guy Amir sometimes. :b

Just Blu-ray movies (not DVDs); over 2,500. ...Wanna see some pictures?

_______________

That means I can rewatch any of these, at 1080p (majority of them except for the Music concert ones), with the very Best picture & sound, anytime I or friends want to. Like I said Amir, I'm big on Movies & Music (software). Ask my family members and friends what they think of me.
...I'll give you their email addresses or phone numbers if you want to (I'll ask them first though).

And I don't have cable or satellite TV. And I stream nothing from my computer.

_______________

About you Amir; you rent some BDs from your video store? Or you stream movies from Netflix or other sources of that genre, with lesser picture & audio quality?

But then, your dedicated home theater is not completed yet.
...And that will cost you a bundle fo sur.
The room, the acoustic panels, the lighting, the electronica, the speakers, the subwoofers, the wiring, ...and you certainly want some of the best too, for your money and budget.
After all, those are not business expenses, but your own personal entertainment expenses.
Like some people who have more than two, or three, or four, or five, or more cars.

* Some people who spent a quarter million dollar or plus on their stereo or multichannel setup,
me I spent it already a while ago on Movies and Music software alone.
That's just me. But I know other people with much larger Movie collections.

And here at WBF, some members have huge investments in their Music collection.
Mine ain't too shabby either.

Funny that we talk about that now ...
But you asked, and I'm frank with you, as always.

Ak me questions on true matters of life Amir;
like the real stuff of what real men & women are made of. :b
And what's truly goin' on with humanity.

Oh wow. I am think I am completely outgunned :). I have a few hundred BDs and HD DVDs. Have not counted them lately. We don't rent anything. We either watch TV programming/Premium channels or buy the movies we like to keep.

Lately I watch movies and then take them to work and store them in our Kaleidescape server there. So hard to keep track of the real number.

And yes, some people have incredible music libraries. Mike Lavigne comes to mind. Just counting what he had would take you years let alone listening to them!

Recently I was doing the math for someone on how much it would cost to fill a 2 Tbyte hard disk with music and it came out to $25,000 to $35,000!

So Bob, how about putting together your top 20, must watch Blu-rays?

That is too small of a number Amir; make that 100 to be more equitable. :b

And even then, I'll have to omit some great ones still.

* Give me some time; I'll make a list of some of my top 100. ...My own list, personal. :b
But they won't be in order;
just what I consider Must See Blu-ray movies, Music Concerts, and Documentaries.

I was trying to not create too big of a burden on you :). But sure, create a new thread and put whatever number you think it deserves.

Nah, one day, within the next few ... I'll post 100 Blu-ray titles right here, no sweat.
There is nothing more simple than that. Just have to take the time, make my right choices,
and share them. :b

It'll take a while before I start a new thread ...
