* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

Sure it did , definetively a nice sound and forbode of whats coming , i like also the audiopart surrounding the gunman in the churchtower , but for the dry est gunshots i ll have to say the movie HEAT .
I remember when the squad is moving inland after Normandy, the patter of raindrops on leaves sounding mysteriously like low level gun fire, a subtle sound touch and a bit foreboding about what is both behind and ahead for the characters.

Last night:

* I don't know; but I was bored to death with this flick.
And the FBI, ran for almost 50 years by Hoover, is a big childish joke to me.
From this flick the guy was obviously very sick, mentally with his own identity.
But then, what's new? ...Reality is worst than fiction...

...And I hate the picture quality! It is way too contrasted and dark without background details.

-.- ^ Two nights ago: 3D.------------------------- ^ Last night, in 2D.

- The first one: great 3D transfer (reminded me when I was reading all the Tintin comic books). :b
- The second one; my favorite Western of all times. :b On Blu-ray, it is the very Best!

I m one who likes movies , once upon a time in the west , good one .
Same as harry potter series
And i like very much documentairies .
One is How the universe works , a 3 dvd box which is the best space dvd ive ever watched, with the leatest on the subject .
I also have lots of history /listening docs on LP , some are very old and you buy them for nothing almost

Tonight I have scheduled

El Cid

We watch NetFlix DVD's at home most weekends and the majority are blu-ray. Last evening it was the concluding disc of "Mildred Pierce" (I liked the first 3 chapters better), and tonight "The Guard".

Watched Hangover II blu-ray. I had not seen the original. The name made me think it was a silly movie. Well, this one changed my mind. Yes, it has a bit if silliness but it is so well made that it is a category in itself. The surprise factor was quite high. Watching the commentary, seems like they let the ad-lib a fair bit. One of the few times where an animal was truly part of the crew.

Not an A+ movie by any stretch but very good entertainment.

Amir, you should definitively watch the original one. It is a much better flick IMO.
This 2nd one is a repeat of the first one, and not as good.
You can tell that the producers lacked inventiveness... With that 2nd one.

It's weird, not many members here are watching movies.

Time...I can work while i listen to music. If i watch, i am usually eating dinner after work, and i finish the movie (usually action) in 20 minute...just watching all the best parts. ;) I will say, i just readjusted my sub for music about 3 months ago after getting Auralex subwoofer isolation platform...incredible difference...but never got around to properly re-finetuning the film setting. I just did it friday nite...and watched Tron for about 30 minutes. It was originally bloated and irritating. Now...Whoa...when he first gets zapped into the other world...the splits second he disappears and snaps into the new world...the room was so energized the furniture 25' away actually shook and it was not actually that loud in the room. A pitch-perfect boom. cool. ;)

El Cid was quite an epic. Loren has never looked better IMHO.

Lloyd, are you using some' else to fine-tune your sub, like an Auto Room EQ for example?
Or do you have a DSP Parametric EQ built-in?

IMHO, Velodyne's DD-series has an incredibly versatile, flexible and fine-tune-able EQ system...it can do it automatically for you using its own built-in output signal and input microphone...and then you can fine tune every frequency from 15hz-120hz by increasing, decreasing that frequency by up to 6-9db in either direction...plus phasing, and 6-7 different settings you can do...i only use 2...one for music, one for home theater.

That's great Lloyd. :b

--> Way over the top, but the chicks look gorgeous;
in particular from halfway to the lower part of the body. :b

Own them all but the original...
