Old sci-fi movie with materialized nightmares

I'm looking for a 1960s-1970s movie about a machine that allowed dreams to be projected, and then some nightmares materialized as monsters. As far as I can remember, there was a man who fought them with power-gloves. Does anyone know this movie?

I would have taken a stab at ‘ Forbiden Planet ‘ however that was a 1956 movie
