I have a Q1 in anodized, and S1 in M-cast Pewter. I like a lot both.

I'm with stereo. Q3 over the S5. The Q3 is more refined sounding. It has a more neutral tonal balance and it is better looking, IMO. However, I can see how those who listen more to rock and at loud levels might prefer the S5. There is also a considerable price difference.

Does the S5 measure better than the Q3? Scratch that. I've heard both and prefer the latter. I did recently hear the Alexia sound very good with Pass XA160.5 amps and the the XP-30 pre amp.

I do not know of any reliable measurements on the Q3. But if we admit is follows the trend of the Q5 we can expect it to be significantly tailored. I liked a lot the Q5, but it is really a very inefficient speaker, limiting the choice of matching amplifiers.
